I've been taking cetirizine (Zyrtec) lately, and it seems to work for me. I was taking loratadine (Claritan), but it does not seem to be as effective for me anymore.
When I was a kid we moved to the San Joaquin Valley of California (Modesto area) and with all the agriculture my mom was miserable within six months (watery eyes, stuff nose, sneezy, fatigue). After a couple years of suffering she got allergy shots and within a month she was fine again. We lived there another four years and she had no issue with her allergies. Maybe its an individual thing, but it worked for her.
