I can't keep my damn dog from digging under my fence and getting out and I am getting tired of trying. I have cinder blocks all around the fence and 2 foot peices of rebar jammed down through it but he alway manages to find some other place to get out. I see these fence deals for sale fairly cheap used every now and again and I am thinking about trying it. How well to these things work? Does it only shock when the collar passes the wire or can I set it so it goes off when its within like a 6-12 inches of the wire? I would like to just be able to string it around the bottem of the fence so I don't have to bury it but if it only shocks once his head passes the wire I don't think that plan would work. Once his head is under the fence I think he would keep going shock or no shock. He has been denutted so that isn't the problem :Q. I am about ready to head to lowes and buy some real electric fence equipment but I hate to spend that much money on something that would only be needed for a little while. Atleast I would hope that after he got the crap shocked out of him for a month or two he would quit trying .
I have few other ideas too but they all involve work and I don't much like work .
