My grandma used to be a Mason, but I dunno if she is anymore...I think my mom was too. I've never really asked them about it though, besides my mom telling me it's not some kind of cult like everybody thinks.

roots of the freemasons? they were a union back in the middle ages of masons who didn't have to pay internal travel taxes (hence the word free) in england because their skills were so in need, iirc.

My dad was an activly involved freemason when he lived in Zambia, Africa. One of our good family friends was the head leader thing for the lodge there. It just seems like a social organization, but they are known to "hookup" eachother with stuff and services. My dad wont share the secret handshake with me or my bro All i know is back in africa they usedto have these lodge family parties, and we usedto go there and they had bowling and stuff

I think back in the day it was more secretive and exclusive...nowdays they help out the community and eachother. But i bet if you were trying to do something and a freemason was on the other end, you would prolly have an better chance, like say it was getting a job or a loan...

I think the female branch is a little different from the male branch, the male side of things being the substance of it all.

Ahh I see, my guitar teacher is a mason I know, just because he's got that symbol on the back of his truck. Never asked him anything about it though.
