Used Uber multiple times this past weekend in OC. They lowered their prices and are way cheaper than taxis now. About 12 bucks for little over 6 miles at 3am.
Ouch. Not sure id get out of bed at 3am to drive that as an uber driver.
I'm always serious about my trollingword to the wise SS. People cant tell when your being serious or when your trolling..
I thing I like about uber is that you don't have to give tips. Often time in a taxi, they demand it.
They can demand tips all they want. It's not required.
This.
Wow. So you don't need any special insurance or anything? These services sound like a massive law suit waiting to happen.
Also, $3/mile? Really?
People in Denver are rejoicing. The taxi service here sucks balls. I have never been in a Denver taxi and not been given some guilt tripping spiel about how I should feel bad for paying with a credit card. Of course, that can only happen if they even show up in the first place. Seriously, fuck those guys.
I worked in Denver 3 times last year and used Uber every time I needed to get somewhere that I wasn't driving myself...barely ever saw regular cabs and just assumed that the experience would be just like in any city that isn't LA/NYC/Chicago. (aka, shitty)
update on life as an uber driver?
update on life as an uber driver?
never used it. about 10 days after i signed up i followed through on another idea people had been talking to me about, real estate. i've been shooting RE phtography for a few years, and some top agents said i'd be great at also being an agent so totally changed directions.
then a few days after that i went apartment hunting. found a place quickly. i own a 2001 Acura 3.2 TL but Uber only let's you use cars 2004 and newer. so since i was living at home was going to use my parents newer accord and they would use my acura. well since i moved, that wasn't possible anymore.
ironic because my 2001 Acura with leather interior is a nicer smoother ride than the newer 2005 Accord. so that was that.
That's pretty cool. Kind of like what FuzzyBabyBunny does. You should start a new thread and let us know how that goes.
Lots of people sell cars for more than they paid for them. They're called liarsI know somebody that makes about 80k a year doing this taxi crap in/around Seattle. Biggest part is he's figured out how to screw people with used Prius'. Buys, uses, and sells them for profit. I still don't know how he does that...other than most people around here are absolute morons and it's probably not hard to take advantage of them.
No but I have taken around 30-40 uber rides so far in San Diego, Orange County, Atlanta, and a couple other places.....never had a bad experience, and it will revolutionize even traditional taxi customer service standards.
Edit: One guy who picked me up from a large outdoor mall in Irvine was coked out of his mind in a brand new Benz......I was counting down the moments until he offered me a bag....was about 1/2 way through the trip.
srs or you selling me a bridge.
