Anybody here ever work @Enterprise Rent a Car?

one of my best friends from high school works at enterprise...

the bad: long hours, lots of grunt work in the begining, pretty strict enviornment (my friend got called into the office and given a warning for being ~5 minutes late twice in one week)

the good: promotion potential, pay seems pretty decent, and the ability to pretty much transfer to any branch if you ever want to relocate to a different part of the country

I applied for a position with them. I just wanted to see what they'd offer in terms of compensation. I got an email back saying they pay all new hires right out of college $33,500. That is insulting to me.

Where did you go to school and what did you study? $33,500 is pretty decent for a college grad from a state school in a non specialized degree program.

Yes, it can be long hours but i wouldnt say it was hard work. You get to learn a lot about how to run a business, you get paid as a manager off the profits, so if your branch does well, then you do too. The system is designed to keep promoting you, if you can make area manager you really have it made then, and thats not beyond someone to do in 5 years or so. Theres also a ton of other departments other than branch rental ( like loss control, which is an interesting job )

Some decent perks when i was there too, company car, dirt cheap rentals for holidays, i had training in New Jersey and in the head office in St Louis, they really look after you there and its an amazing building to check out. Every year the managers get flown in from around the world, the years i was there we went to Florida for 4 days, they even got Universal Studios closed to the public for us for a night, was really cool.

Yes, you do have to wash cars and sell CDW, but its not hard, i made some great friends working there, and yes, 90% of the girls they hire are very cute indeed ( and smart too! )

I went to school in Baltimore and majored in accounting. $33,500 is just not acceptable.
