Anybody Know Anything About Ethynol?

Hey all,

Anybody know anything at all about Ethynol? I'd like to get out of the Oil game. I have a Chevelle 350. How would I convert it? Also, where do you buy it? Thanks!

Ethanol, however...

You are going to spend a lot of money to convert a 350 to run on alcohol. It isn't just a matter of filling up the tank with alcohol instead of gasoline.

You basically wouldn't have the same engine anymore. You'd need carburetor and fuel system mods, and probably internal engine mods too since alcohol needs high compression to extract the energy out of it effectivly.

Remember that alcohol has less energy per unit than gasoline. You would expect a net fuel economy reduction. Alcohol is also more expensive than gasoline currently.

I'm all for it, but considering you can't even spell ethanol, I doubt you'll be jumping on this ship anytime soon.

you will have to replace your valves, heads, and maybe your block at the minimum. another thing about flex fuel modifications is the fuel burns much hotter so you have to get harder engine components to withstand the heat.

Thanks! Good Stuff. Wanted something to help the "family" farmer, maybe cheaper (if only), quit burning oil, etc., but it sounds harshly expensive to alter my car, and that "reduction of fuel economy" stuff, well, it is a chevelle...fuel economy already sucks!

it would be easier to buy a E85 vehicle instead of converting something
