Anybody use nvidia 3D Vision?

I started taking a look at NVidia 3D Vision. The requirements are pretty hefty, but I'm giving it some thought...

Anybody here have it? Impressions? Was it worth it?

Also, what's the cheapest way to go about doing it?

I enjoy it immensely.
But there is no cheap way around it. i.e. 3d monitor, nvidia kit etc. but then again you can play bunch of new and old games in s3d.

You could always try one made by another company. You might find some cheap on ebay. See which ones are still supported.

An older pair of shutter glasses and a CRT monitor would be the cheapest way of trying it out.

It's a great novelty, but most people get sick of it after not to long.

I enjoy it quite a bit and am happy with the purchase overall. I had bought the monitor before hand simply cause I wanted a 120hz monitor. I figured what the hell and ordered the glasses kit and was have been very happy with it since.

Get the Acer H5360 and NVidia 3D vision kit. Yeah it's only 720p, but you need a projector sized image to make it worthwhile. 3D on a tiny 22" or 24" screen is not immersive.

Or wait till 1080p 3D projectors become affordable.

I used it during the early period when EVGA was shipping it to people to use and review for free. I was kind of cool, but I didn't think it was worth the performance hit, which was substantial. Also, I found it a little disorienting during online FPS games, which slowed my reaction time. I prefer a large 2-D monitor setup.

I just got an Acer H5360 720p 3d ready projector in the mail yesterday. Today the glasses are arriving. I can't wait to try this out!! Has anyone had any experience with the H5360?

I played WoW in 3D nvidia at blizzcon ... didn't like it, but then again, I can't "see" 3D.

If you want to test it out you can get some cheapo red/blue glasses somewhere, install the drivers, and play in anaglyph mode. You lose all color definition but the 3d effect still works, and this let's you test it out without shelling out for the glasses and monitor.

So I got the kit and I tried a COD4 and Bad Company 2 in 3D. I haven't had time to play for more than an hour yet, but so far it seems reallllllly awesome. I have very sensitive eyes and I didn't feel any strain at all. The games were not quite as cool as I was imagining in 3d, but it still adds a lot to the game play. The 3d movies are way better than I expected. I haven't seen any 3d in a movie theater since the blue and red glasses, but with these active shutters it looks nuts. During the Nvidia demo it seemed as if the logo was floating in the middle of my living room. Very happy with both purchases.

No. When the glasses and TV sync up in 3d mode, the glasses' lenses seem to illuminate, and the TV goes into ultra-bright mode. This makes the TV look hideous to those not wearing 3d glasses.

This is pretty much exactly how it went for me as well.

Very happy I did, too. Its really a blast.

That's because the 3D requires the framerate to be cut in half.

So I got off work yesterday and rushed home to get some more time in with my new glasses. They were charging via usb all night, the amber charging light is solid which i believe indicates a full charge. However the glasses will not power on. Looks like i'm going to have to have them exchanged. Very disappointing considering there is ~an hour of use on them.
