This is it imo. There is lots of anger churning under the surface. Ds are in power now, so they will get the brunt of the house cleaning, then Rs will come back, also prove useless, and then get driven out of office as the cycle turns.

Granted, the Ds have been particularly feckless since taking office... So a big reconning is coming.
Feckless? Americans did not give Democrats enough power to change anything. Anyone complaining that they aren't changing things needs some more education.

They just needed to pass a bill to fix the roads, not F with anyone's taxes, and get COVID and the supply chain issues under control... and they failing utterly.
COVID supply chain issues will work out. I just saw a headline today that they're already expecting a glut due to overcorrection. Very few people are voting against Democrats because they fear tax changes.

Forget about getting outplayed on the social issue bullshit *once again*
This is the main reason why people vote against Democrats. This is the issue they need to address. Dems lost VA because of CRT. Not a single Democrat has even mentioned implementing CRT that I am aware of. Dems get punished at the polls for things they haven't even done, because they constantly ignore issues believing that "people aren't stupid enough to believe this crap so we won' even address it." Guess what? +71M people are that stupid. Imagine if every Democrat with a mic in their face this year took a few seconds to say "oh, btw, there is no CRT in schools and we are not pushing for CRT in schools."

Republicans would say both a) they are lying and b) look how he's breaking with the republican party, they can't keep their house in order, they're so disorganized (not like us) etc etc. When you're willing to just straight the fuck lie about anything, you can tear apart ANY argument, ANY defense.

Right, but there is nothing stopping them from countering those lies publicly and often instead of just ignoring them and allowing them to become "facts" in additional mediocre minds.

You mean the way that's already done, again and again and again, and it doesn't matter, because goddamned imbeciles just screech at them and vote R again?

I haven't seen any Democrats (politicians, not voters) address CRT being a made-up issue publicly.

Got one at least.
Jeff Jackson (NC)
I'm sure you're right though, politicians should probably attack it head-on. I still don't think it'd matter, it'll just be one more nonexistent hotbutton issue come 2022 and 2024.

Yeah, I'm just saying ignoring all this bullshit is clearly not the way to go. Anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers are widely recognized as looneys, we need that effort on all the issues. No reason a person railing against CRT shouldn't be similarly shunned.

Here's the kicker though, if Democrats spend all their time chasing Republican's tails around the room like poodles, they will get criticized by Republicans for 'not getting things done' and 'not focusing on important issues', yada yada yada. It's a catch 22 because one team isn't playing by the rules and there's no goddamned refs in this game.

Well, Democrats are already being criticized for not getting anything done, and my surprise solution to that is for them to constantly remind Americans publicly that they have not been given enough power to get anything done.

The last thing you want to do in front of your constituents is make up excuses (no matter how valid they are) as to why you aren't getting your job done. Republicans are doing their job (stifling progress) just fine, after all.

The United States political system is, by design, ungovernable.
Only super majorities get things done.
No one obtains a super majority.

It's governable when everyone's on the same page with what to do, just not necessarily how to do it. The current situation was created by the actions of an exceedingly small number of absolutely horrifying people.

Incorrect, it’s not ungovernable by design, it’s ungovernable because law makers turned it into something else. The capping of the total amount of house representatives was the biggest mistake, the creation of the filibuster, and the creation of a standing army, all contributed to where we are now. A lack of representation, a stand still in creating legislation providing for the general welfare of the American people, and a government entity that is a drag on this country in terms of costs and monied political interest.

A fix in anyone of those areas would lead to a major change in current US politics.

Not enough power? And people call Trump a dictator. Jospeh Stalin would be jealous of the amount of control that the Democrats yield. Sorry that Democrats are typically weak leaders that are more worried about gaining power than anything else.

It's posts like that which make me wonder if bullshit actually rawdogged a crackwhore, just so he could mimic Trump's syphilitic dementia. He really compared the Dems to Stalin, yup. Someone give him a fishing pole, point him towards a swimming pool.

GQP is trying to act like this surge of indignation at the voting box by racist Karens is some kind of political earthquake, seem to think Trump's "non involvement" counts as his direct involvement, which should garner praise and credit.

*rubs temples* It's really easy folks, but I encourage you to keep crowing about this while Biden sets employment records and presides over covid being whittled down as much as possible. Biden got something passed for infrastructure, been in office a year. GQP talked infrastructure horseshit for 4 years and did nothing.

So the guy who let the Texas electrical grid deteriorate and that led to deaths the past winter still gets that level of approval because he's against CRT and masks?

Texas is really fucked up

Just wait till it happens again. Thanks to typical Texan corruption that bill they passed to pacify the outraged masses post outage actually had a cheap opt-out put into the small print. Companies could skip all new responsibilities with a small one time fee, very small, like $200.

Another broken democracy, one that requires religious tests to hold office (no atheists allowed) and has gerrymandering and voter suppression tuned to an art form. Corps can do wtf ever they want, people expecting modern standards of living, education and medical care can eat a bag of BBQ dicks. At least there's Austin, a great town actually, but yeah the Lone Star banana republic is fucked up.

Can't wait to see where in Mexico Ted goes next time. Hope they don't forget about the dog again.
