not a muscle car but i have a 1987 mustang GT ( link below ) i did all the paint/body work myself. shop built the engine i did all the mods and installation

My dad used to own first a '67 Mustang, then a 1970 Mustang Moch1. He had to sell it when he got married though.

I saw a 69 AMX 36k miles on it, NEVER registered (the dad who owned a AMC dealership bought it for his son in 69 and he had been driving it ever since with the dealer plates on it)leather A/C etc..on fleabay awhile back. Last bid I saw was 21K, and it still hadden't met res. I was drooooling over that one big time!! (wish a wasn't so damn poor!!)

BTW Did you know if you take the later model (dog leg port) heads and bolt them on your 68 AMX you can get another 15 -20 HP out of it?

I did that to my Javelin after I "wore out" the 290 it came with and dropped in a 390!
But all in all the 290 was a MUCH better engine. Not as much top end, but stoplight to stoplight I never got beat! It was like the chev. 302 SHORT stroke and QUICK in the 1/4 mile.

I have a '70 442 W-30.

Bought it about 17 years ago as a 42k mile one owner car.

Im restoring it now (it has 48k miles). Hope to have it done by next summer.
