Anyone been to Turkey?

thinking about taking a trip for a little over a week, anyone been to Turkey? How is it? How much is there to see/do?

I dunno specific details about what to do and costs...but my parents have been and said it was beautiful and really interesting (if you're in to the history, culture, museums and old churches kind of stuff).

Istanbul is a great city to visit. Lots to see, lots of history.
If the weather is nice and you have extra time, you could take side trips to Pamukkale or Ephesus or Cappadocia.

Overall, I think Turkey is one of the more fascinating countries I've ever visited.

i have been to turkey and yes, it is worth visiting if you are into history, culture, etc. It truly is a beautiful country and most places things are really cheap.

I very much recommend visiting Turkey if you can, wonderful place and the Turks are great people. Tons of interesting stuff to see, and I'm pretty sure it's still quite economical to eat and sleep there.

Turkish dogs rule btw!

I went into Marmaris, Turkey via ferry boat from the greek island Rhodes, then took a bus a few hours to southwest beaches, and they were more beautiful than the greek islands. The water was about the same, but was much more lush all around. People were far more friendly than in greece as well.

Granted, that was quite a few years ago...
