Anyone been to Whistler...

Planning on taking a ski/boarding trip to Whistler in a few weeks. Has anyone been there? any recommendations on where to stay, hang out, etc?

I haven't been for quite a while, but I have stayed at the Hostelling International hostel there, and it was pretty nice. There are so many nightlife options that you just need to follow the best looking women I think maybe next year I'm going to try to get back there.

Stay in the village if you can afford it. Blackcomb is more advanced than whistler. The gondola lifts are long, so just ride the lift

I was there in the summer. It was pretty awesome, the lifts were on for mountain bikers and hikers. Cant imagine how cool it is during winter.

whistler is one mountain and blackcomb is the other mountain, but it is one resort.

I went a couple of years ago. Whistler and Blackcomb are the two mountains. Unfortunately when we went it was unseasonably warm and raining most of the time. This was at the end of January to early February. We had one good day where it snowed at the top of the mountain.

This year they seem to have gotten tons of snow. Hopefully the boarding will be better for you. The village and nightlife was great. We were there during Australian Day. Lots or drunk Aussies.

Yeah, Whistler is the name of the whole resort and the two main mountains are Whistler and Blackcomb. But definitely go to the Village for a good time!

It might be hard to get a room this time of the year. But aim for somewhere in the Village and from my experiences, they're all half-decent anyways.

The village is located at the bottom, where the two massive mountains meet. Two Gondolas taking you up two different mountains only 100 yards apart or so. That is what makes it so special. Look at the website.

has anyone heard of the TELUS World Ski and Snowboarding festival? apparantly its from april 13-22 in whistler

I was there in late February, book in advance because the hotels do fill up. Also, most hotels in the village are quite expensive, so be prepared for that.

The conditions when I went were (and probably are still) fantastic. They've received a ton of snow this winter, so expect some prime powder
