Would have loved to get the 6MT but the wife has had bad experiences with manuals. Paddle shifters (while not a true manual replacement) let me play on back roads though.

I bought my son a 3t with the MT this summer (sadly, it was the 4 door). He hated me at first (no, not really), but now he is a big fan of the MT.

I didn't particularly like the automatic gearbox on that Mazda. Outside of being spoiled by DCT, I didn't particularly like the gearing. Reminded me a bit of a Toyota Corolla that I drove; 1st gear is super long and then just stays between 6-7k the rest of the way. The Mazda isn't just like that but it did feel a bit long from what I remember. I liked the steering though.

My E550 Coupe has a 7 speed automatic gearbox with the paddle shifters and I like using them. It will hold a gear for as long as I want it to and it shifts up and down pretty quickly. The automatic in sport mode does a decent job of shifting though so I find myself leaving it in sport mode quite a bit of the time.

Almost moved forward on replacing our 4Runner with a Q7. Decided to wait till after the holidays to make a decision. As we consider getting rid of the 4Runner, we realized that we had grown oddly attached to it despite all of its faults.

Started out with a couple of new clutches, and then got hit with the surprise engine overhaul. Yay me!

All being well I'll have an M4 Comp Pack on an extended (24hr) test drive next week.

Q50 (for me)
QX60 (wife)
Sea-Doo Spark

paid cash for all of it. No more fun purchases for a few years (although tempted to trade in my pontoon boat for a larger one).

Bought a new kitchen and landscaping for the backyard to make it kid-friendly. Did it all without a HELOC, so it'll be a few years before I can really think about a new car.

Yeah I went all out this year.
For our 5th anniversary I bought my wife a slightly used Lexus IS250.
Never ever had a luxury car in my life. I figured I would splurge for once in my life.
2015 IS250. 22,000 miles on it when I bought it for $26K. Looks brand new $28,700 OTD. I paid cash for it.
I found the old paperwork for the car. Bought in April of 2015. The retail sticker for the car was $42,500. Don't know what the actual price paid for the car was but needless to say buying a 1yr/4mth old car for $16K less than retail price was a great deal.

'17 Sienna L. Out the door at $29,138 after $500 trade-in on a 24yo. Previa. Prices for these can get up around $50K.

I had to get the cheaper L since there's nothing on the roof (I have a tight garage), and I have seen posts about leaks with roof racks on Highlanders, maybe the Sienna is different. Plus I had a leaky moonroof on the Previa.

I'm also in a manual wheelchair, and enter the van via the passenger side rear door, so I have to step through to the front, and in any other trim there's a console bolted to the car making pass through impossible.

Also I've read too many posts about gremlins with the electric power doors, so I prefer the manual ones in the L. They close very easily.

Of course it has a lot standard including the new 2GR-FKS/8sp. combo., backup camera, cruise, steering wheel audio/computer controls, Bluetooth/USB, programmable convenience features, aluminum wheels, rear discs, dual auto AC, rear A/C controls, etc.

It's super smooth and quiet, and the only downside (to me) is the 19/27 mpg.
