I watched the first ten or so minutes of it, then gave up because it was so fucking retarded.

I hated being in Glee club in highschool. My guidance counselor enrolled me in the class as some sort of punishment for not taking PE seriously.. I got to spend a whole semester sitting in the corner with my head down trying to drown out the godawful gospel music.. Though the first week of being constantly sent out of class, every single day, for not participating was pretty funny. At least in the counselors office, I didn't have to hear the music..

Oh right, this is about the show.. Well, fox only has terrible shows outside of its sunday animation block and so without having seen Glee, I can safely assume that it is likewise terrible.

Wrong, the Sunday animation block is terrible to barely watchable depending on the show.

The only other show on Fox I watch now that Terminator is canceled is House.

Think I wanted to check it out, didn't know it was on. Was watching the news or something during that time, what a waste.

So we get another American Idol show?

No, this is a scripted show. Kind of a cross between Fame and The OC, but with voiceovers. Yes, I'm skeptical, too.

So it sounds just like American Idol.

I'm on the fence. Some moments are funny and amusing. Others are just odd. The redhead teacher reminds me of winona ryder somewhat...or somebody like that.

I like Jane Lynch in all her roles, esp. Best in Show.

I don't want to doom a show after 1 episode, but I don't see this show as having a lot of mass market appeal, even after being handed a golden ticket by advertising during American Idol and coming on right after it.

I like Dollhouse. That show is pretty slick.

Everyone who hated the show after first couple of episodes (ok, for most of the season) and quit watching it, but loved TSC, is missing out. The development was a little slow for the main character and the overall plot, but the last 2 episodes brought a lot of stuff together beautifully and it was well done. I wouldn't say it was the best season 1, but I liked it more by the end than Terminator, which always seemed on the verge of getting good, but then ended up falling back to mediocre, filler subplots. The ending had potential, since they essentially reset the entire scenario for John Connor in the future, but who knows now whether it would have turned out good. I wish they hadn't canceled the series, though.

Anyway, Glee's pilot looked good (saw it when it aired, not yesterday), but I think it might have the feel of a movie drawn out too long once the season starts. I'm looking forward more to "Community", which seems like it will be twice as funny, though probably with less serious characters.

I totally rejected this when I first saw it coming out. Slowly it was kind of winning me over though, mostly because of the gym teacher lady who is funny on all the other shows I see her in. Didn't catch the pilot but I'll see it eventually, no burning desire. FOX, however, *needs* to bring back Sit Down, Shut Up (I don't care if YOU think it sucks) or at least play the remaining 7 episodes.

The kids are okay, but Jane Lynch deserves a better show. She pops up occasionally on Two and a Half Men playing Charlie Sheen's shrink, Dr. Freeman.

I had always hoped that they would spin off a series for her based on that character.

Jane Lynch was also good in a handful of 'Old Christine' episodes as a gym teacher. She's funny but not someone I would build a show around.

...as well as being the sex therapist in Boston Legal. I loved her in that.

I miss BL so much

I tried to watch it a few months ago and didn't get all the way through. Just found it uninteresting and not that funny (is it a comedy? Who knows. really, who cares). I don't see the hype; the show fell flat for me. I will definitely not watch it again.

FOX, however, *needs* to bring back Sit Down, Shut Up (I don't care if YOU think it sucks) or at least play the remaining 7 episodes.

I have only basic cable and some other few channels. Fox is almost all I ever watch (along with hgtv). I've never heard of sit down, shut up.

Well I love it. I don't think the drama/plot is particularly good or even interesting, but I'm an absolute sucker for show choir. It's worth me watching just for the songs. And I've really enjoyed Lea Michele's singing since I watched her in Les Miserables more than a decade ago.

It's certainly not for everyone, but it's f-ing hilarious to me. Random musical sequences, dream sequence a la Scrubs, and totally inappropriate stuff tucked in here and there.

For instance, when Emma catches Rachel puking in the bathroom, she takes her back to her office (counselor) and behind her is a row of pamphlets that include: "DIVORCE Why Your Parents Stopped Loving You," "I can't Stop Touching Myself," "Radon: The Silent Killer," "My Mom's Bipolar and she Won't Stop YELLING," "Wow! There's a Hair Down There!" and finally, "So, you Like Throwing Up."

I thought the first episode was so-so, especially the beginning because they had to set everything up. Second episode was great. Third episode was good. Looking forward to the fourth.

I kind of like it. It's just so odd though, which I enjoy. Plus, "I bust the windows out yo car!"

Eye candy isn't bad either, esp. Jane Lynch

My wife's side of the family are dancers. I don't just mean women that go to dance school. I mean professional ballet dancers, former professional broadway dancers, Juilliard graduates, professional choreographers and dance school owners. In my house that means that every Wednesday So You Think You Can Dance is playing on TV. Glee follows immediately afterward.

At first I didn't mind because it was time to grab the laptop and do some web surfing. Then Glee began to grab my attention. By the 2nd episode I was watching it. I hate musicals for the most part. My tolerance of musicals generally ends at the movie White Christmas. But the quirkiness of this show, the humor, and the writing (which is damn good) has grabbed my attention. Now I have to admit it's a guilty pleasure. Ironically enough, one sub-plot of this show is being able to enjoy showtunes while still maintaining your mancard.

People should drop any pretenses and biases and give this show a chance. It may be one of the best shows on TV right now.
