Comcast.net keeps ending up on this 'blacklist' site. It's a pay to be removed deal and even they do not recommend blocking mail based only on a hit from them.

Comcast.net is not listed on any other blacklist site (at least with the ip I checked).

Anyone know a way to get around this if a forum/website is saying your email address is blocked due to a back scatterer hit?

Searching the net shows a lot of people are being burned by this site.

Your ip automatically drops off in 4 weeks, but every 30 days the IP gets re-added.

The easiest way would be to use a different email account. Any reason it has to your comcast email?

Or you could try to convince the site owner/administrator they are doing this wrong, but why bother when you can just use a different email account?

Wait... you talking about IP address or email address? You mentioned both.

It's not MY IP nor my email address. It's my ISP that I pop mail from.

Their IP is what's getting reported, not my own IP nor email address.

I would have to have a whole new email service to get around this.

It's not wide spread, so far only one site I know of that is affected.

I see. Unfortunately there's not much you can do if the person your trying to email is using that list other than sending the email from another address or via another SMTP server.

IMO, that list is not something any sane person would use on a business email system. It's sounds as if the person running the site you're trying to join, or the person running the email system they use, is either clueless or a militant anti-spammer, which is the only type such a list would appeal to.

It's not hard to find another SMTP server to use. Other than the obvious free providers, if you pay for any webhosting, they'll have one. You can send email from foo@comcast.net through another outbound SMTP server if they allow it. Most will.

It's just a matter of switching my mail forwards and all that from a service I am paying good money for.

The site with the issue is e46fanatics.

As comcast.net is what is blocked, you could try contacting Comcast to work with the website to resolve the issue.
