Anyone done this with a sand picture before?

The frame I was given a few years ago has large bubbles in it which completely mess with the flow of the sand. I'm thinking of using the technique described on that site, but when I do it, I would line up one of the large bubbles with the hole they're mentioning and suck the air out of it. At least, that's the theory. I still need to get a syringe / needle for the job.

The images are about 10 pixels wide and don't explain what they are or why a person would want one.

As far as your question goes I have no idea. If you need a syringe you can probably hit up your local CVS or Walgreens and ask for them at the pharmacy counter. It should be free but you might get some condescending looks and a few questions from the gals behind the counter.

You do get weird looks and a complementary pamphlet about drug use and safe needle use. Which is strange considering no one uses IM syringes to shoot up intravenous drugs

I went to a local pharmacy and asked for one. They asked a few questions (I think the fact that I said I didn't care about the capacity or size of the needle helped) and then gave me one for free, which surprised me. I think it's the sort that diabetics use.

It did the trick just fine. There's a few remaining bubbles but they're no longer screwing up how the picture works.
