I own a nice WR Blue one... I love the car a lot, but I do have my gripes. The stock tires suck ass, and parts on the interior are cheap looking, and are actually flimsy. The front seats rock, and hold you in place very well. The MOMO steering wheel has a real good feel to it. They omitted a boost guage from the factory as a default option. The power and handling of the car are awesome for the price. I can't wait until winter hits Chicago! The stock head-unit is nice(6-disc built in CD changer), but the stock speakers are placed horribly and are crap. I'm still really happy with my decision after driving it for a few months.

I think you also have to consider the markets that these cars are hitting. Acura is entry level luxury. For the the premiums that you pay for your car, I'd hope that it was more luxurious than a Subaru.

You have to remember that the WRX is based off of a rally car. Subaru really tries to push that fact. Leather seats would just ruin the experience of the car. Besides, leather doesn't grip very well and if you took a corner too fast in leather, you'd slide right out of the seat. Also, do you really want leather seats in a car designed for a rally course? I think it sort of does away with the image that Subaru is trying to relay.

If you want leather and pretty looking doohickeys, buy a VW GTI. But if you want sheer driving fun, with the confidence of AWD and a nice set of options as well, go buy a Subaru. Subaru isn't trying to be something they aren't...at least with the imprezas.

Go listen to the McIntosh system offered in the high end Outback Legacys and come back and tell me they suck. You just have to remember what market you are shooting at here I guess.

I saw a dyno chart/graph of it some time ago, damn it looked as if the power drops off really quick. Any of you that own one experience it?

Still though, 0-60 in 5.8 seconds AND with good handling, can't beat that package. Now throw in the AWD, my god, unbeatable.

Oh and if you are looking for more information, just head on over to the i-club forums: I-club

That's what they tested (average) and wanted to be conservative, or people would start bitching and moaning (like with the new Q45).

Car and Driver tested it at 5.8seconds, so now Subaru is advertising that new time (stipulating that C&D got that time). Check the newer ads.

Can't wait for the STi... !!!

As far as power cutting off.... The fuel shuts off at redline, so right around 7K RPM. The boost cuts off at the higher end, around 6500 or so. A lot of people have had success in improving their power curve by adding manual boost controllers which run for about $40. I am planning to add one to my car soon.

<< My car is a WRX 5 speed WR Blue. Very fun car. >>

How long have you had it ?
Any complaints ?
>>

Have it for almost 4 months. One complain is that that the glass is cheap ass - already got a cracked windshield and fog lamp. Oh well, those can be replaced. Stock tires ARE crappy. I can make it squeal really loud doing a 35mph turn on normal asphalt. I'm just waiting until I get some good tires with new wheels. Gold wheels are a requirement on a WRX
People complain about cheap interior and such - my previous car is a 1982 Toyota Corolla. So this is already very nice for me. Look! AC! he he Ahh...ignorance is bliss

Personally I like the interior of the WRX. It's more utilitarian, function over form. I think that is a recurring theme throughout the car. Nothing is very flashy about the car, it's made to perform. Subaru knows it, and they are playing that angle up.

The RSX interior is a lot better looking (especially with the leather option), but then again it's made to be more upscale, being in the Acura line.
