Anyone eaten at Benihana's ?

I'm going there on Friday for this girl's birthday. I'm going to be paying for my GF and I only. I was just wondering what type of tab I should be expecting to cover. I know it's relatively expensive but I'm just trying to budget out the night cause that's the first stop of a few.

I dunno man. Before I moved offices, my building was next door to Benihana's, so I'd eat there a couple times a week. Usually I'd come out with about $18 for lunch. A lot of the dinner stuff starts at $25. Then figure in drinks, etc.

WTF are you guys ordering? We have to really go nuts to hit $50 for two people at dinner, including soup and appetizers

Depending on what you order for drinks and food, it should be about 20 bucks a person. If you get things like sushi then the price will be a lot higher. My dad was a chef there for 15 years so when we go we only really pay tax

If you're getting any kind of combination, it's starts at like $23 and that's for rocky's choice. It goes up from there to I believe a little over $30 for the seafood combination.

If you get the non-special dinner, it's cheaper:

You're also going to want to spring for the fried rice which is like $4 per bowl. It is probably the best thing they serve these days. Maybe it's just me, but the quality of Benihana has gone way down since the mid-late 90s. They used to do all sorts of tricks. I never see the chef's split the egg or lemon catch anymore and rarely see juggling of the pepper mills. Maybe they're just lazy now.

Dinner is $20-$40 per a plate depending if you get just chicken or some seafood/filet mignon combo. Add $4 extra if you want fried rice. $3 more for soda. $6 for dessert. DO NOT ORDER SUSHI.

I've been a couple of times, after it was all said and done I think it's around $50-$60 a person if you go all out. I get some combo of meat and seafood. I thought the food was quite good, I'd go again if there was one near me,

Im not sure if they do at all locations but at the downtown houston location there is a seperate room with a bar and tables. Its also where the sushi bar is.

As fleshlight said the fried rice is def worth it. The garlic butter they use in it is great.

When i was in middle school or so i used to get the land and sea combination. Miss that.
