Anyone else disappointed with BF3?

Playing rush and on city maps especially, there are lots of people to kill. It's too bad the little bastards shoot back though

The only thing I see in that video is some terribad crawling around. Then you complain about how it takes forever to get anywhere and there's nothing to kill. Run to the objectives and start shooting....

People say the game is bad when it's their own fault for not being any good.

If you have trouble finding people to kill it must be because I'm in the server. I usually end up with 40-50 kills every round. When most everyone else on both teams is around 10-20. The thing I do is play the game like COD. I rush in, and mow people down.

I am enjoying the game but its a bit shallow. I think i need to join a clan or something because right now there are too many assholes who dont give a damn. Jump in a tank and drive off without a gunner etc.

Also no voice chat is just crazy. No commander kinda sucks, maps are not large enough. Firestorm for example is just a huge clusterfuck in the middle. I still really enjoy the game but am looking forward to new maps being released.

Also if anyone can recommend a good casual clan I would appreciate it.

Yeah that is frustrating sometimes. What about the helicopters lol ?

Sometimes people will just fly them to crash or take off without waiting too.

The only times I take off in a chopper without anyone is when I know that someone in my squad is going to spawn on me. 90% of the time that person is leaving you because of this reason.

Even in tanks I'll leave someone to get one of my competent friends in the vehicle with me. There is nothing more frustrating them some retard getting in a vehicle with you and randomly shooting the machine gun giving away your position.

Especially to new players. It angers me to witness people being bad at this game.

I think there is a type of gamer rage similar to road rage that I suffer from. I get royally pissed when people get me killed by being bad. I even get pissed when an enemy kills me from far away, and I see people on my team within 3 feet of him that he isn't shooting at.

As a gamer who doesn't have a clan...or a pool of friends to jump on and coordinate with it totally blows to not have any coordination in the game.

Typing messages is pointless...

I LOVED it in BF2 where you could get in a squad...and just talk with a simple process...not having to get another client (ventrilo) to then group chat with people that may or may not be in your squad or on your team.

I can only hope that they get that working at some point in the future...because to me for all the game offers this makes it a deal breaker...

Yeah, I don't get this. It's been this way since BF2, if not 1942 (never played 1942 so don't know for sure). People have never shared vehicles. It's one of the perks of playing a bf game.

It blows my mind why they don't have voip. VOIP was so cool in Bf2 the players wanted more. Players wanted to be able to get into a vehicle and have a separate button to talk to only the people in that vehicle. But instead of further developing that aspect they deleted it all.

I killed a T90 driver fixing his tank and i was so close to stealing it but my teammate got in... lame but at least i can be the gunner! About 10 seconds later hes turned the tank around and i noticed a line of things across the road and he just keeps driving towards them, i bailed, he drove right into enemy AT mines Mother fker!

LOL, I will admit that this happens to me too. It doesn't even have to really involve me (although getting knife while i cover an entry point when there are 3 pub squadies 5 feet away makes me a sad panda).. i watched 1 guy take out an entire squad at the forest in Caspian... AND i was at the hill spotting him for them. They just sat there, completely oblivious as he knifed them one by one. I probably should have done something besides spot him (over and over) but i was stunned by what I was seeing.

Just to add some logic to this - from BF2 there were reasons that people would specifically drive off in a vehicle solo. In BF2, if you have a squad, your squad members could spawn in your vehicle (IIRC). Your squad members were also most likely the people you trusted most on the server and were sharing voice comm with. So likely you wanted them to be in the vehicle with you to coordinate.

Granted, there were other folks who just liked being tank whores, but a lot of it had to do with reserving spots for squad members. I'm sure plenty of people would bitch that I'd fly a helicopter without a gunner, but trust me, I always had the best gunner on the server - he just wasn't there at time of take off.

The VOIP part is really starting to bug me. A few of my friends bought BF3 for the 360 but I couldn't bring myself to play the watered down version as I feel that BF needs to be played on a PC. However I have yet to find a server with good team play and organization. I went months in BF2 playing only on a single server as it was perfect for team play. If anyone could post a good team play server they have found that would be awesome.

Lack of VoIP is terrible. The com center voice is buggy, too. It reverts my settings half of the time. Where is the 'save' button? Weak sauce. It went from using my headset to the speakers for voice in the middle of a game.

Joining as a team? Doesn't work from what I can tell. A quick good search confirms that it is broken. Way to go.

No way to filter off password protected severs? Yet there is a filter to look for a password protected server? Lol, isn't that backwards? I'd want to see what servers DON'T have a password, not which ones do. Really stupid, IMO.

I sometimes select 'join server' and am greeted with the single player version of the game. Yay, nice bug. It seems to happen frequently.

Changing a squad? Trying to get in the same squad as your buddy? Massively buggy. Takes me and my dad about 3 minutes to get into the same squad. Really stupid. Could be corrected if we were able to join with our party in the com center, but nope...

Despite all the bugs, it is a great game. I, too, am dissapointed with the people who sit back and perfect their K/D ratio. Someone has to run in and attack (might as well be me)...

Still, love the game, been a lot of fun for me and my dad.

I come across a tank and APC. I kill the tank driver fixing his tank, hop in, turn to fire on the APC, and get tk'd! Then the APC shots the guy who tk'd me. :biggrin:

I like BF3, but I feel they should just can the UI/squad/etc system in entirety and copy what was in BF2 over. Not being able to just click on a spawn point is unintuitive, and it's hard to create and manage squads, whereas it was easy and made sense in BF2.

Also, the quick command in the command rose, it's nearly impossible for me to even hear myself if it's noisy around (it usually is), and I never hear anyone else saying anything. I thought it was a fluke, but messing around last night with my brother (he was across the room), he was spamming things like 'affirmative', etc, and I was literally 5 feet away and couldn't hear anything. That worked much better in BF2. They should also put a little screen indicator if someone in your vicinity says something like 'I need a ride', because it's just so hard to pick up on that in game.

I feel a little overwhelmed in the game really, so much audiovisual overstimulation that sometimes it's difficult to follow whats happening, but that's not really a complaint, more of an observation. It changes the game dynamic a bit from pure aim/strategy elements to more of how fast your brain can pick through the clutter to focus on important stuff. In many past games I would turn details down a ton to help reduce this kind of overstimuli, but BF3 seems messy under all settings.
