It's easy to yell and scream about shit on the sidelines like children, actually governing is HARD, as the GOP is finding out.
And that's with all branches of government being controlled by your own party. Imagine being the president and trying to get things done when both houses of Congress just want you to fail.

Anyone know if 'tar and feathers' is covered by Trumpcare?

I recall that the protracted legislative struggle over the ACA, which ended up with approvals in the low 40's, hurt Obama's overall approvals by a lot. The thing is, Obama started off way higher than Trump, and Trump's bill has even lower approvals so far. How long before Trump's own approvals start to dip into the 30's? Tar and feather indeed.

Personally I'm loathe to compare the two, even though I see what you're saying. Obama had to contend with an obstructive GOP, Fox and the rest of the right-wing noise machine actively maligning the ACA from the get go. Death panels! Socialism! Trumpcare, on the other hand, doesn't need any creative license from it's detractors. Everyone hates it - some over ideology, but most because the math involved makes it clear this has less to do with healthcare and a lot more to do with tax breaks for the wealthy and corporations.

I probably shouldn't have used the colonial days flavored 'tar and feathers' though come to think of it. Trump voters seem way more partial to pepper spray and the suckerpunch.

I'm always too optimistic, I guess. I put the number of my fellow citizens who are brain dead much lower than 35%. Trump's efforts are apparently more effective than I imagined.

Nah, I think the number of people we could classify as beyond reason is in the vicinity of 30-35%. Based on various opinion polling. This I think is also Trump's effective "floor" for personal approval rating. He could be caught molesting children on video tape and I doubt it would go below that. They'll just say the tape was doctored by Obama and the liberal media.

I can't believe over a third of Americans think Trumpcare is good as presented.

Actually, yes I can. I guessing almost every single one of them are conservatives spoon fed into thinking Trump is the best thing since sliced bread.

This is their plan. NADA!
Come on people.... since when have one single republican legislator cared or been interested in healthcare especially the availability of healthcare for the masses?
THEY HAVEN'T!!!
Never have, never will.

Republicans are just fine with the employer-based system where some can enjoy the luxury of healthcare if they are lucky enough to work for a company that provides such, or works for a company that offers such.
And everyone else?
Eat shit. Drop dead. Go get a better job.

Pretending that any republican in congress cares about healthcare is total insane.
Paul Ryan doesn't care. Trump doesn't care.
Mike Pence doesn't care.
They are happy as larks with the current system of healthcare for profit, and just pleased as punch with allowing the healthcare conglomerate to run the entire show. To make "all" the rules. Decide every factor of healthcare including who gets is and who does not. When and for how long.

Believing one single republican cares or takes seriously the health of the average American citizen is lunacy.
If they do pretend interest then LOOK OUT!!!
They do so only because they have found even more profit for themselves and corporations in screwing up healthcare even further.

And I know exactly where this current endeavor is headed, to sever the relationship of healthcare from the employer.
Yes....
What the want, their goal is to finally sever the connection with employer responsibility for providing healthcare at all.
They want to release all and every employer from providing healthcare to the employee so the financial bottom line for those corporations will flourish.
If the employer is no longer attached to healthcare in any way, then no more will the American employer or corporation need worry about healthcare nor their employees health.

So where does that leave YOU?
Fishing around on your own for a plan, any plan, just as you would shopping for a car or for new drapes.
At the whims of the healthcare for profit system minus the employer.
Are you ready to go shopping?
Are you ready to pay thousands a year for a single healthcare plan direct from Humana or Blue Cross, not to mention multiples of thousands for a family plan?
I hope so.
Because THAT IS EXACTLY the goal of Paul Ryan and every single republican in congress. Including this so called and lame excuse for a president.

Healthcare in America is not only about to be destroyed forever more, you and your family are about to get a lot sicker and poorer.
And while you are at Walmart picking up bread, you might want to visit the healthcare isle. I think it is isle number 10 just down from the macaroni.
Look around. See what Humana is wanting for their plan, or Welmark, or one of the few others.
And look our for those generic brands.
The brands that claim to taste the same but end up busting your gut.
Because you know if you can't trust Walmart to sell affordable healthcare, then who?

If the Repubs are going to give in on anything related to gov't sponsored healthcare, it's ONLY because they need to get re-elected.

It seems to me their goal at present is to eventually find the bare minimum of gov't sponsorship that will appease their constituents in order to keep their seats so they then can bury those hefty tax cuts into the health plan that's exclusively targeted for the very wealthy.

The very wealthy enjoy the best healthcare their fortunes can buy. They could give a rat's ass about anyone else's problems with securing for themselves even the most essential health services needed to live functional and productive lives.

So the 1%'ers only interest in all of this Republican Fake Healthscare Plan is not only having none of their tax $$$ being paid into a program they have no use for, they see an opportunity to pay even less taxes by exploiting the controversy this issue has created.

Pursuant to their sock puppet GOP legislator's standing marching orders to cut taxes for the wealthiest folks whenever and wherever possible, McConnell and Ryan are doing their very best to obey such orders.

That Trump's and the GOP's working class supporters are purposefully blind to this fact of life and insist on supporting the vehicle of their own demise is what's at the heart of the problem that the vast majority of Americans (not the 1%'ers) are now having to deal with.

I just came away from a session with a person that works closely with Seema Verma and they laid out the facts and what this bill means to my employer. Over 300 million less in Medicaid reimbursement a year over the next several years. Jobs will be cut. Expansion and services will be cut. Access to care will be limited. There is a very large fear that the rural and community hospitals that thrive on above average medicaid supplements will be left for dead.

So you've got a systemic issue of primary care hospitals losing massive revenue and having to eat costs of uninsured now showing up at the door and doing it on less staff and beds. Rural facilities that provided convenient access to less acute treatment and diagnostic procedures going under. And the well paying jobs with those regional hospitals going away.

Well done everyone. Well done.

Millions of people voted for Trump when it was fairly obvious he's a dumb angry monster and also horribly unqualified.
So yes, I honestly believe those same people will actually have a dilemma over whether to reelect their representatives or senators.

It is not like there was a good option to vote for to begin with, I didn't want Trump or Clinton. People had 2 turds as an option - and with Hillary's issues w/ Benghazi, E-Mail Server, Pay to Play State Dept, etc to some Trump seemed to be the less of 2 evils.

I cannot believe they put out what they did for their replacement program. F*cking idiots...

Can your state focus on being a net positive gain instead of a welfare state? We Californians are sick and tired of carrying you.

We have learned to not remotely trust 'public polls'...so I don't think 35% of the US is braindead. It is pretty easy to get a poll to say what you want it to as we viewed during the days following up to November.
