I bought a Shimian Achieva QH270-lite monitor from ta-planet on Ebay over the weekend. Despite the comments everywhere saying it was a waste of money, I bought the "pixel perfect" option because I wanted an avenue to whine if I got a monitor with dead pixels and thus paid $363.
They shipped it on Tuesday (holiday on Monday in S. Korea) and I got it yesterday at noon. I opened the box and it was all very nicely and professionally packed and looked like a brand new monitor from the store - people have said that their was sandwiched between sheets of strofoam or cardboard, but mine was very professionally boxed.
I unpacked it, looked at the stand - which was a solid chunk of non-adjustable plastic - and set the stand aside. The dual-link DVI cable looked ok to me - but I'm no expert on DVI cables. The power connector was Korean, so I set that aside as used a spare computer cable that I had. I used the VESA mounting holes on the back to attach it to the wall on my adjustable wall mount. Then I hooked everything up to my computer and powered it up and I was very impressed with the image quality, the colors, and the brightness. The image is crisp, the colors are gorgeous, the coating on the screen is a bit glossy but not too bad. It's a big upgrade in quality from my 24" Soyo Topaz MVA screen.
There are no dead pixels - no pixels are stuck at any color. I loaded up a variety of images and I don't see anything stuck darker on an all-white screen, and I don't see anything stuck at white or any other color on an all-black screen. Beyond this, I'm no expert on panel quality but it all looks very good to me.
I'm very pleased with the LCD monitor, how it looks, how good games look on it, the pixel density and how big the screen is, the price that I paid for it and I'm blown away by how fast it shipped from South Korea to here.
