The single input versions (Dual Link DVI-D only) does not have an internal scaler... Only the versions with multi video inputs have an internal scaler.

Just wondering, for those who bought any of the 27" monitors...How is it running after a few months/weeks?

Decided to go for the Tempered Glass 27" Yamakasi Catleap 2703 LED IPS for $300 from bigclothcraft. Was thinking of the Crossover 27Q, Q270 SE, Achieva, Potalion, and Qnix.

Not a gamer at all, but this will be a nice upgrade to the 24" Dell 2405FPW I got for about $750 late 2005. :'(

Are these monitors going to stick around at these prices? I really want one of these, but I don't have the extra money to buy it yet.

I think they will be around for a bit yet. Multiple sellers with more than a few hundred sold each and more than 10 available. I ordered one earlier in the week. Does anyone know what kind o f power brick I need for this? Mine will only come with the 220v brick. I want 110. Or should I just buy a step down convrter?

The monitor I got had a "Korean" style plug. I just replaced the power cord with a regular American style plug and everything worked fine.

I have a Catleap Q270 LED and it seems perfect as well.

Is it worth paying for a pixel perfect monitor? I can't find a reasonably priced, tempered glass and pixel perfect monitor.

I didn't pay for pixel perfect and I am very satisfied with my monitor. However, this is no guarantee that you will be happy with yours.

Good luck.

From what I am reading is either that pixel perfect policy changed or there is now a clarification... it guarantees no more than 5 dead/bright pixels... they say someone checks it before shipping, but some people still get defective pixels and some sellers partial refund per dead pixel...

your probability is still the same with non-pixel perfect... Good Luck!

Thanks for the clarification. Now I'm deciding whether to get a tempered glass model. Since I'm not OCD about my monitors and just need desktop real estate, these should be perfect.

I just got my Shimian. Looks like there are some companies in the US who are going to sell their own 27" locally.

I saw something about Nixeus going to start to sell their 27" with multi inputs starting next week.

Right but you're still using a power brick that is looking for 220v and the 110v is pushing power through at a higher rate. People have reported that they burn the power brick up within 2 months use.

It depends on the seller from what I understand. Certain sellers actually do look at the screen and try to make sure it's good before shipping. Not perfect mind you, but one of the better ones. Some sellers just turn it on and check that it works and then ship it. If you don't pay for pixel perfect they just grab a box and ship it.

so when i should get it, i should immediately throw out the power cord that comes with it, and just use a regular power cable that you would normally plug into the back of a pc or monitor?

In my case, the power brick has a sticker (added on) that says: AC 110 is acceptable. I don't know if other people are using the same approach.

Ok, after looking at 1080p and 1200p monitors, I decided to get a Catleap.
27", IPS and 1440p are huge upgrades over LCD 1080p's yet in same price range, simply too irresistible. I have a Sapphire 5770 that is listed as "not supported" on some ebay sites. It has 2 DVI outputs and I'm getting contradictory answers whether this GPU will work with a catleap. I'm aware that the 5770 is inadequate for anything GPU intensive at 1440p (actually that applies at 1080p as well) but after buying a monitor, I need to hang onto the GPU just a little longer until bank account bounces back enough to spring for a 7870 or 7970.

Which models would you guys recommend, ebay sellers/sites to purchase from, things to look out for and what else should I know? TIA.

I think any video card with dual link DVI should work. Also, the 7950 is a much better buy atm than both the 7870 and 7970.

One would imagine that IF a 220V power brick was certified for 110V, it would have the info hard printed on the cover.

Mine, a Welltronic, is 110V-220V. (Ta-Planet) Shimian Lite.

Having said that, they (220V) do seem to work with 110V, but you will have a much greater input current, roughly double, = more heat = greater failure risk. I would be a bit wary of counting on an added label to remove concerns.

Amazon has cheap 110>220V (200W for safety factor) transformers for ~ $20. A worthwhile investment, as the replacement 110V power bricks cost a lot more.

I have seen many reports of this card working well with the monitor, but remember that only one DVI output of the two is Dual Link. This is the one you need to use.

I never understood why AMD since the 5xxx series went that route, when DVI monitors are so common.
