so i tested the hdmi input and no go there either. i dont have display ports on my 570's so i tried a vga cable with a dvi adapter and that showed the bios/post screens no problem. ill just leave that cable hooked to the monitor and swap the connection at my card when i need to get into the bios or any other low-res situation. someone over at [H] said that display port will work for bios too but i cant verify that myself.
Those with AMD GPU's, can anyone see BIOS?
Mine turns on when I'm at the windows log in, blank up to that point.
Now look what you did, you make me wanna hook my Catleap back up to my Main rig and try again. :biggrin:Oh I bet amd and nvidia are sooooo happy people are buying these monitors up. It pretty much forces you to upgrade your GPU if you wanna use it, play games, or just get bios to show. Lucky for me it worked perfect with my 6970's in crossfire or crossfire disabled
OH and I found out the other day that having crossfire for me is over kill. I dont have BF3, or any real "new" game and so far all my games are playing at max res with just one 6970 and not 2. This whole time I thought I needed the pair to run my games but grid wouldnt go higher then 1280x720 in CF mode but when I disabled it I ran at max res with no slowdown. Then tried my other games like DiRT 2&3 and it was the same, so Im thinking about pulling one of the cards till BF3 comes down to $5 on steam and then pop it back in, if needed.

The only game i really didnt care for the framerate at 2560x1440 was Skyrim, simply because i cannot seem to get it to run in X-fire mode without stuttering, so I'm stuck with just one card and it drops from a steady 60fps at 1920x1200(v-sync on) to 40fps at 2560x1440.
And i was right in the middle of the game when i got my Catleap, and i'm done with it now.
Skyrim is actually my only x-fire/stutter issue.Funny that I dont get any stuttering with my cf set up when playing games UNLESS it is the Heaven bench and I set tes to extreme, then it stutters. So Im wondering if the stutter people have been getting is the cause of tes in their games.
But hook that puppy back up and try again, I wont ever go back to my old monitor unless this one breaks, and if so I'll just tear it apart and fix the busted cheap ass caps that blew.
Since people have brought up the video card angle with these things I have a question.
I bought a GTX480 earlier because it was on sale (I'm a sale whore). Now I bought the Catleap.
Should I buy a newer, more powerful single card or should I get another 480 and go SLI?
Specific recommendations about which card to get are very welcome.
I have a NZXT 750 watt HALE82 Series power supply. It's supposed to have 62 amps on a single 12 volt rail. Hopefully its decent.
I just ordered a I5 3570K and an ASRock motherboard. If I start swapping things around I also have a 750 watt PC Power and Cooling power supply that's supposed to be pretty good.

Catleap hooked back up, and looking good as usual compared to my Tn panels.Dude Im glad I was able to help in a way. Now hook it back up and enjoy the eye candy! I fight with myself in movies because they look so good on this monitor so Im fighting if I wanted to watch it on my 120" Projection tv or watch on the monitor in all its glory. Movies, hd ones, look outstanding on it. I watched Cars on it the other night and it was just eye candy city. The colors, blacks, and contrast was just unreal. I was switching back and forth between my PJ and this monitor and couldnt make up my mind which to watch it on
How do these and other similar monitors handle running at 720p? Are any of these able to get a higher refresh rate at 720p and does it do 4:1 pixel mapping?
Tfor the higher price you might as well get the Nixeus Vue (USA Brand) that comes out on Aug 21, but the first shipments are sold out and are back ordered until Sept 14.
Are there still models that may do 75hz+ which are around $350?
Or are there any models that can be set to run 720p at 120hz?
Are there still models that may do 75hz+ which are around $350? The only thing that his holding me back from ordering something like the Shimian QH270 lite is that in FPS gaming higher refresh rate helps keeping movement smooth. For everything else I love the high resolution and 60hz refresh rate works great.
Or are there any models that can be set to run 720p at 120hz?
Not likely. Sorry. There is a group buy at 120hz.net, supposedly (I don't give a damn about the faster refresh). But they're 550 bucks.
I have a shimian and I fiddled around with the resolution. In Nvidia settings, as well as windows, I can only get 60hz.
Would the Nixeus have any benefit over the Microcenter version (Aurion) that is only $400?
