Its seriously the best update I've done in the last several years.

Gonna bite the bullet this weekend and pick up an Achieva Shimian. There's a lot of listings on Ebay, is there anything I should keep an eye out for when checking the listings? Prices vary a lot and I'm not sure why.

Bought a Catleap 2730 on ebay last saturday. After 2 days display would fade of randomly for some reason. Seller payed shipping after I told him it would cost more to ship the monitor than the actual worth of the monitor itself ($360 to ship it back to Korea via DHL lol). Just took the plunge on a Dell monitor. It was a brilliant monitor while it stayed on, but not willing to take the chance again. Only other gripe about the 2730 is removing the stem which attaches to the base so I can properly mount it on a 3rd party stand, didn't take long but you had to remove the bezel, and unscrew the panel from the housing.

What I find funny in all of this is when I think back to all of the TN vs IPS monitor threads. Those advocating cheap TNs are jumping ship now that high resolution IPS is affordable. What about that 2ms pixel response time? Not much of big deal now is it?

With monitors this big it's really important to have IPS, not quite as important with smaller panels.

I got my Shimian today. Gorgeous monitor. One dead pixel but it's not that noticeable. Overall very impressed.
It's so much better than my other monitors that I want to leave as the only one on my desk.

I currently use 23" monitor that I like but I might consider one of these higher resolution monitors. I am wondering if there is an image quality difference between these monitors. I am most interested in the Auria 27" at Micro Center because buying it is a bit simpler than eBay and returns (if needed) might also be simpler. However, I would rather not have a glossy screen. Which of the higher resolution 27" catleap-type monitors have a matte screen? I would appreciate any response.

For example, would moving from 1920x1080 to 2560x1440, would that image improvement be similar to running 1920x1080 at MSAA x 1.25 or something? Perhaps look at the FPS penalty between the two and interpolate to where they would equal each other.

I've had my Crossover 27Q for nearly 6 months now. Still very happy with it. I haven't had any issues. I did upgrade to a 7970ghz so that I can push 60fps in a majority of new games.

you definitely doesn't need the same amount of AA on 1440 as on 1080.

Really late to this reply, but wanted to say, the monitor is great and the customer service is solid.

OC'd up to 120Hz, but I don't even keep it there. Gives me the resolution to make my dual 7970s worth it. And easily fit onto a VESA mount.

They also seem to be making advances in reproducing the PCBs that allow for 120Hz, so they may corner the market on this niche while also keeping prices pretty reasonable on their products.

i hope you arent suprised that people willing to spend 25 0no an TN vs 550 for IPS will jump to a fast IPS for 3-350

the 'double latency' is worth it vs pixel density and cost at this point

I went from a 120hz to this, and while 120 is definately better than 60, 23.6 1080p bs 27 1440p......hard to stick to the 23.

I was also doing eyefinity in 60hz 23" 1080p

This isn't available locally in India. I'm not counting on my luck to get a pixel perfect display and there are catleaps that are available on ebay with free international shipping. Assuming that I do get one from ebay (Shipped to India), I'm sure (given my bad luck with hardware) there will be a need to RMA/Warranty the display.

Is there any possibility of getting a local warranty service? Or do I have to ship it everytime I have to RMA/Warranty repair it and not live with a monitor for a couple of months?? My main concern will be the amount of time it'll take to replace/repair the display.
