What stand, out of curiosity.

The WalMart stand. I think there is a link earlier in the thread. It looks like it holds a larger/heavier monitor than the monoprice stand. Mine was from TA Planet and it just left Alaska via FedEx. I hope it will arrive Monday.

Ordered a Crossover from bigclothcraft yesterday. Decided that 120hz didn't matter that much to me, since I've gamed on a 60hz LCD for probably 8 years. Just waiting to get shipment confirmation now.

Also wondering about bigclothcraft. Any reason to buy the ShiMian QH270-Lite for ~$360 from ta_planet over the Potalion 2710QW for ~$330 from bigclothcraft? Both are "Perfect Pixel" and include the US 110v/120v adapter.

I've never heard of the Potalion 2710QW, so that would be one reason... At least with Shimian and ta_planet there's a bunch of positive reviews.

And, for what it's worth, although I bought the "pixel perfect" option, I don't necessarily know if it's worth the money. My box didn't appear to have been opened and I have my doubts that they actually check anything. It seems to me that you pay $60, they ship you one of their stack of monitors, and if you have dead pixels, then they refund some or all of your $60. Maybe I'm wrong and they really do take the monitor out, test it thoroughly, and then seal it perfectly... but mine didn't look like anyone had unpacked it and I'm wondering if they don't just ship you any old monitor and then deal with the occassional complaints when it's not "pixel perfect".

So, I'd personally buy a known monitor with good reviews from ta_planet, a guy who also has good reviews and would drop the pixel perfect to save money rather than buy a different monitor with fewer (none?) reviews.

if you read the massive thread at OCN they talk about the potalion as well as a couple other models, basically the are the same as the rest, just a different sub brand of someone else. same with the pcbank

The other thing that is different is each brand uses different motherboards (control boards) and different qualities of bezel/stands.

120hz versions are expected in mid-june. Ive been checking the site everyday. Cant wait to get my hands on one.

Before i was almost to a point where i wanted to give up 120hz for ips 1440p, but luckily now i dont have to compromise.

I'm waiting for that myself too. I just hope there would be a seller willing to ship it to NZ.

Why do they say they won't work with certain video cards and APU's (even though it appears they have dual-link DVI ports)? My AMD/ATI HD4650 is not on the "approved" list even though it appears to be dual-link, will it work? Obviously I'm not gaming...

Obviously you're better off asking in one of the main threads on the other forums for someone who owns your specific card to answer.

Those threads are pretty long, but from what i can remember, some cards just won't show any post screens on startup until windows loads.
So that could suck when trying to enter the bios.

I just got mine set up. The screws that came with the WalMart stand were too long so they had to be cut with a dremel. So far everything looks okay. I used my old monitor plug for the transformer because ta planet sent a 2 prong round plug which won't work. So you guys in the US that ordered a Shimian Lite might need a monitor plug. Possibly a power supply/Xbox plug would work as well. The important part is the transformer works. I was only able to OC it to 64hz so that is a little disappointing. My 24" Asus could do 66hz.

I'll mess around with it for awhile and update if needed.

The connector ports may show it is dual-link DVID on the card, but the hardware may not be there to support it.

Just got my Crossover 27Q setup. Holy crap this thing is huge and the resolution is insane. Now I need to try calibrating it. Anyone have recommended software or recommended settings?

Glossy. I don't think it would be good as a TV. It only has a DVI-D input and no built in scaler. You might look at the model Micro Center carries.

Can anyone tell me how to install an ICC file and make sure that it's being used? I've never done it and Google isn't being especially helpful.
