The ones that BigClothCraft is selling are 2C PCB, which means, yes they are "overclockable", but they drop frames beyond 67hz, so it is pointless to overclock them. Also it is the "multi" version, meaning it comes with all those extra inputs at the cost of input lag due to the scaler and other extra circuitry. So the one to get is the real 2B which does not have HDMI, VGA, etc.

120hz is where my research took me as well. I am getting in touch with the guys there to see about how you go about purchasing them when they become available.

i was just kind of assuming that you could buy it right from that website? Let us know if you find anything out on how to order when it does come in. Ive been checking like 3 times a day now... cant wait for this monitor!

The e-shop on 120hz.net is where they will be selling the monitors once they get a hold of them. We should know more about availability next week.

this site is an easy check for stuck or dead pixels, http://jasonfarrell.com/misc/deadpixeltest.php

if you dont want to know then dont run it, mine didnt show any which is great, 1 of my 2 has some slight light bleed, and by slight its only slightly worse then the other one, i dont think either was as bad as the TN pannels i was using before

i had to drop the brightness a lot, holy hell they are bright, i think i have the same reaction to every LED lit monitor as they are so fing bright

are these monitors good for gaming. I am tempted to move my PC back to my bedroom but I will lose the big screen gaming with full HD surround sound from my HT setup!

I've got a Catleap 2B running at 96hz and it's fantastic for gaming IMO. I don't play games competitively, but I don't have any trouble holding my own in BF3: Close Quarters. The black levels may be too black on occasion making it hard to make out enemy targets, but that might only be a problem to serious FPS gamers. Games like Skyrim with HD texture addons look simply amazing.

I agree with all of mple's comments. I have a Shimian Achieva at 67Hz and it's fine for gaming, no noticeable input lag, no noticeable motion blur, games look good - although as mple said, the blacks are very black. But most games look fantasticly good. I think if you are super sensitive to speed issues then maybe a fast TN panel might be better, but otherwise, I think this panel is fine for gaming. Probably the only major negative is that you need a decent video card to drive the native resolution.

I borrowed my friend's 27" S-IPS 2560x1440 Monitor which supposedly has higher input lags due to a scaler (HDMI & VGA inputs). Over the weekend I played Battlefield 3 and there was no noticeable difference in input lag than my normal TN panel that I used. My K/D ratio, my aiming, movement, and other things was not affected... in fact I had top kills and top scores in 9 out of 10 games... I'm wondering if input lag has much affect if you have a more powerful GPU that can generate more FPS than a weaker GPU (I have a GTX 670 btw). I don't camp either - I run gun ho rambo style into fire fights (Other ATOT playing with me can vouch for that).

If not having stuck/dead pixels is important to you then I would. They allow up to 5 of them if you don't get a pixel perfect monitor. It may also be difficult to get a Square Trade warranty if you don't as they would be considered "as is".

Danish customs are drinking too much coffee and eating too much cake and working too little. They've had my parcel since the 12th, they got the missing invoice the 13th, and they have still not handed the parcel over to the post service.

...it has now left customs... YAY!

I'm largely gone from these forums but wanted to drop by to say that I did discover a dead pixel after all in my Shimian Q270-LITE. It was waaaay on the side though, and specks of dust are as big or bigger than it, so on the whole it didn't matter much. It might have mattered more had it been in the central 2/3 portion of the screen.

The bottom left of mine is developing a bluish tint. Not to bad, but noticeable.

Just ordered three Potalions from bigclothcraft. This is replacing a 20/30/20 setup that I've had for a few years now. They'll all be VESA mounted on a parabolic Ergotron arm. I'll post pictures and impressions after I've got them setup.

I'm very much looking forward to proper driver support, FU both nVidia and ATI for not providing good support for mixed sizes/orientations in multi-GPU.

I'll be running three in portrait, so it's not THAT huge. My old setup was almost 50 inches wide (just LCD width, not counting bezels). This one will only be ~40, though of course much taller.

Old setup:
Physical display area: 49.48x15.9 = 789.2 sq in
Resolution: 4960x1600 (7.936 MP)

New setup:
Physical display area: 39.66x23.54 = 933.6 sq in
Resolution: 4320x2560 (11.0592 MP)

So I finally got my Achieva Shimian QH270-IPSB tempered glass monitor. My experience so far:
I bought it from red-cap and for some reason my order was shipped to Germany without any address. As soon as I pointed out the error to the seller he shipped a new monitor the next day. So all in all including customs it took 4 weeks from ordering the monitor to receiving it. A bit frustrating but to say the least, but now I’ve got the monitor so no need to focus on the negative. The seller had labeled the value @ $50, but Danish customs was very throughout and I had to send the invoice to get my parcel. No problem, as I I’m not particular fond of tax evasion and I had calculated the sales tax into the budget from the beginning.

The monitor arrived nicely packed and without any noticeably damages, wrapped in bubble wrap.
Setting up the monitor was very easy, just mount stand and plug in power and the DVI dual link cable and fire it up. (Remember not to panic if there’s no picture, you may just has put the DVI cable in the wrong output on your video card.) I can access the BIOS no problem and windows worked just fine.
The finish of the screen is really gorgeous and the glass front is really nice. The stand is a little wobbly, but the black plastic is very discrete, and I don’t really move the monitor around a lot so it doesn’t really matter. I would have lied the stand to be a little higher, but just tilting the screen slightly makes it ok. The screen is very glossy, but as soon as you turn it on you don’t really notice it.

I’ve found three dead pixels, but they’re at the edges of the screen and they’re so small, I only notice them if I fire up a white screen and look for them. As soon as I actually use the monitor I don’t notice it at all. There’s no dust trapped behind the glass, so that’s nice. As far as I can see there’s just a little backlight bleeding and no color distortion.

What I really like is the extra desk space. Going from 1680x1050 I get nearly the double amount of pixels, and that is really nice. I also prefer the 16:9 ratio as I use the screen for a lot of TV and movie watching as I don’t have a TV. Pictures look really good with the added resolution and the colors seems more detailed, especially in the grey tones. All in all I’m very satisfied with the monitor; it looks really good in my living room.

So ive just about reached the point where i might just order one now, and just hope they come out with the pcb to OC it to 120hz later. few questions:

which is the best model to buy/site to buy from? I havent really put much thought in to it until now, since i was just banking on getting a 120hz version from 120hz.net. I defintley need one that has the (vesa) holes on the back.

what are the chances they actually will ever come out with this pcb Im coming from a 120hz monitor?

Any other tips for someone planning on getting this? Ive also heard the 120hz versions drop a lot of frames - so is it even worth it to OC?

Just got one yesterday and waiting for it with my fingers crossed. It'll be interesting to see how much of an upgrade I consider this considering I'm going from my 37" Westy (5+years old), which means a reduction in the total screen size, but a very nice jump in resolution.

I did the same "upgrade" about a month ago. I'm still not sure I'm going to keep it. I just liked the size of the Westinghouse.

Besides the drop in screen size, any other reasons for wanting to replace it?

Ehhh, my Westy is about EOL as well, I've got the right side of the monitor dying on me (dark wave keeps expanding, noticeable enough to be annoying). Give it a whirl and see how it goes
