Thank you! My 5770 has 2 DVI outputs, one has a "gap" between the pins, the other does not, based on the images I looked up, the lower DVI slot should be dual link. I am only guessing here but the single slot reference 5770's probably have dual link omitted hence the "no" on the catleap for them. I guess I will find out, as soon as you guys recommend me a model to pick up. Preliminary research points to this one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Tempere...1986?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item1e6fcfb462

Also thanks for the 7950 suggestion, I see them hovering just above the $300 mark.

Tempered glass only has a re-enforced panel. The normal one is still glossy as well. Up to you. Same internals.

The stand is changed as well from the Q270/SE

One would imagine that IF a 220V power brick was certified for 110V, it would have the info hard printed on the cover.

Mine, a Welltronic, is 110V-220V. (Ta-Planet) Shimian Lite.

Having said that, they (220V) do seem to work with 110V, but you will have a much greater input current, roughly double, = more heat = greater failure risk. I would be a bit wary of counting on an added label to remove concerns.

Amazon has cheap 110>220V (200W for safety factor) transformers for ~ $20. A worthwhile investment, as the replacement 110V power bricks cost a lot more.

I have some power adapters for various devices that say 110-240v on them from the manufacturer. So companies like Sony and Samsung can have one actual brick and just provide the proper plug for the region they are shipping/selling to. Probably not a bad idea to buy a voltage transformer for your korean monitor (the ones that look like a power supply are the best). They plug into your regular outlet and can accept any plug from any country up to 220v. They have an on/off switch and are protected by a fuse so if there's a surge it will pop the fuse and not your monitor.

Can you post a link if you found one? I checked awhile back and didn't see a 110v-->12vDC 5A. I have been actively cooling mine. The brick was reaching 120F(checked with a IR thermometer) and I put it on a laptop cooler I wasn't using and I rigged an old case fan for the top with a spare transformer. It doesn't look pretty but the temps are down to 95F and less now(mostly mid 80's). Also TA Planet updated the brick recently. It has a larger noise filter on it and other IC changes apparently.

This one plugs into your standard outlet and will output 220v or 110v via a 200w power supply with on/off switch which is also protected by a fuse so a surge doesn't pop your stuff. Less than $20. The bad reviews have something in common. They are using electronics that draw too much power or they use appliances that need more amps.

Exactly. Not an added label from the seller.

Can't remember the replacement brick model, but its on Ebay. Only a few models exist. You have to be careful and get one with 4 pins AND that has the right polarity on the pins. Look through http://www.overclock.net forums.

I have the big filter model, but I don't think 120F is too hot (I have a 92F room temp). In any case, cooler is better.

That is the same one I was thinking about. 200W output allows a < 50% load factor. Should prevent early failure.

This option should be a lot cheaper.

Just ordered this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/140732640429

The slightly cheaper model has a line of "up to 15 dead pixels" in the description, this one has up to 5.

I then went to Amazon and ordered the 110v>220v transformer that cmdrdredd linked.

Granted I have A 55" TV in the living room but have never even seen, let alone used a IPS or any monitor bigger than my current 22". Can't wait.

I got my 2B pcb q270 today from 120hz.net. I am stunned. This monitor is great. Currently have it up to 120hz and loving it. Only downside is the cheap stand.

Do high refresh rates like this allow for Nvidia 3d vision?

120hz.net shows pre-order only. Did you purchase direct thru their site? Is it available now?

They had a ~200 trickle in a few weeks ago. I jumped on it quick.

I just got this one. Comes with DVI D-VGA-HDMI. Paid a little more to have them, but I think worth it. I will post pics and impression when I get it. Going to replace it with a Sceptre 32" 3d LED tv. Im downsizing, but hope to make up for it with higher rez and 5000000:1 Contrast ratio..

Multis add input lag :/

Ended getting a $20 refund for the $300 Tempered Glass Yamakasi Catleap 2703 I ordered July 14th being shipped late. Received it only today, 13 days later.

BTW, shipping time was fast. Left 6 pm- Seoul, Korea time Thursday (4 pm Wednesday CST) and arrived at my door 12:30 CST Friday. So about 44 1/2 hours.

As mentioned somewhere the OSD buttons under the right part only the on/off, and brightness up/down function. Perhaps on a more expensive model it does.

Noticed 3 green pixels on a black background, 1 dust particle behind the tempered glass. No dead/live pixels on the other colors. Slight backlight bleed on lower right side. I don't see much calibration needed, but might check later on.

Overall very satisfied with the quality, but stand is too low compared to the 6 year old Dell 2405FPW ($650) it replaced. Not bad, I only paid $280 shipped. :awe:

Gripe - The included DVI-D (Dual Link) cable is too short at 6' for large tables. Good thing I had a spare 7', 9' would have been perfect.

Updated with photos: It was left in front of door, nice box and artwork, item nicely packaged, initial usage with arrow pointing to the dust particle behind tempered glass. Overall nice upgrade.

Skorpio i dont think i would even notice that dust speck there. I mean i would see it if i looked all over for it but if you sat me there and didnt point it out i might not have noticed.

Well I had to do a initial visual inspection for any defects since these monitors are A- grade (max 5 dead pixels) not a A+ grade (pixel perfect). So far 3 green pixels on a black background, 0 on the other colors (RGB).

LOL, I've actually read some people were actually opening their LED panels and attempt to remove those dust speck behind the tempered glass. Not me, for the price I paid it's good enough.

I'll take a picture of the backlight bleed (in the dark) just for curiousity's sake ASAP.

Hi everyone, this is a huge thread so I'm sorry if these questions have already been answered:

1. I've got a 23" 1920x1080 monitor that I use mainly for web surfing, reading and move watching. Would this monitor be good for text reading?

2. Would a Radeon 7770 or similar card handle this resolution when playing most modern games at medium settings?

3. Do most of monitors bought from eBay come with all the needed accessories, such as power convertor, DVI cable etc? Are some sellers better at providing accessories than others?

4. I use a matte screen monitor in a room that has light coming in during the day, so I was wondering if the glossy screen would be a hindrance. Also, at night, the light from the ceiling is somewhat strong so that might be a conern.

5. Is it not worth it paying slightly more and geting Auria EQ276W from Microcenter since it comes with a 1 year warranty and can be bought from a retailer? Is the quality of the Auria similar to the other Korean catleaps from eBay?

I read one of the reviews on another site that this monitor does not support HDCP; that some movies cannot be seen on these monitors. The review mentioned that some copy protected content, such as Blu-ray movies and some cable TV shows cannot be seen on these monitors. Since most movies I watch are streaming, this is a slight concern.

The pixel pitch seems low compared with, lets say a 28" 1920x1200, so the text would appear a lot smaller. If someone were to read text for a long time, wouldn't this be more tiring?

I appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

1) You can increase the text size on web browsing, increase some icons on the desktop etc. You'll have more overall screen real estate.

2) You need Dual Link DVI ports. If you have that you can probably use this monitor. People are claiming lap tops will not work though.

3) They come with everything, but the DVI cable is hit or miss. It's very cheap quality and I'd just spend $15 on a decent one.

4) The catleaps are glossy. It will glare.

5) I have no knowledge of the Microcenter monitor. I can only assume it's pretty similar to a catleap (panel made by LG and rejected by Apple or Dell).

Watched a blu-ray (Star Trek (2009) on my Yamakasi 2703 using Corel WinDVD11 and Arcsoft TotalMedia Theatre 5 using a PC/Blu-ray burner drive. Didn't have a problem playing them.
Not sure if it will work if I connect it with a HDMI to DVI-D (dual link) cable to either my cable box/Blu-ray player. Perhaps monitors with HDMI built in would work better in this situation. :\

Update: Info from NVidia control panel. Shows the Catleap 2703 is HDCP-capable. So it's a graphic card and monitor combo.
