WOW:

This is an amazing monitor. As others said, cheap stand, too bright out of the box and a color profile is needed. Testing for backlight bleed and brightness uniformity, will report findings. Preliminary conclusion: Amazing bang for buck.
Thx to cmdrdredd for recommending the voltage step down box.

Kinda pointless to take pics with a phone cam but did so anyway.

I'm actually not using it. I'm using a power cable from an old PSU and it works fine. The new power bricks are 110v-220v so they work fine. Mine has never gone above 96F. I don't know how people were seeing 125F temps on their bricks.

Here's a link to the color profile I am using. http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...p-native.icm&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13438685386092

I also set the brightness 9 clicks up from the lowest setting. To achieve To get 115 cd/m² you can use 8 clicks up from the lowest brightness with the profile I linked.

Got my Catleap Q270 SE on Monday, but just now set it up and boy, I LOVE IT!

This monitor reminds me how much I love glossy! Having a glossy panel makes the colors so much more vibrant and alive compared to a matte finish.

Before I bought my Samsung 305T Plus, I looked around for a large size monitor that had a glossy finish, but I never found any at the time.

But now I have! I dare say, I think I may like this monitor even more than my 305T Plus, and that monitor was incredible!

Also, I found not one single dead pixel or any other defects insofar, which is awesome considering the cost of the monitor..

I keep hearing how the SE version has few inputs = less scaling = less input lag vs something like the Auria model at Microcenter. Is this an actual tangible, noticeable difference?

I just took a chance and it worked out well. I think I have 1 or maybe 2 stuck pixels. They aren't in the center of the screen and I can't see them unless I put up a full black background and get about 3 inches from it. I didn't think about it while ordering, but this makes sense - these screens are cheaper because they're A- panels, meaning that something small is wrong with them. If you get one with no pixel issues, you're more likely to have an issue somewhere else that may be more noticeable, such as backlight leakage.

My Achieva Shimian has been good for 2 weeks. Now that a few friends have seen it, I suspect more sales of these monitors happening soon.

I posted this before, but here's a temporary solution to the crappy stand issue. Out of box, my Catleap stand was wobbly and uneven. Squeezing in a DVD spindle beneath it has solved both issues.

Wow, is it that bad really? Did you check if stand was secured to the base tightly?

Yeah it's pretty bad without the spindle. It leans forward and to the right, and wobbles when I type on the keyboard.. I'll likely not buy a new stand since the spindle corrects the problem without bothering me in the slightest; though I realize some people may see it as an eyesore.

I got the multi version with the extra inputs and I notice no lag at all in my games. I made a post about it. And I guess Im lucky on the stand. Yes it wobbles, if I touch it, but other then that it stays put and is even all the way across.

The stand also depends on the surface it's on. A solid desk will not move and in turn won't make the monitor wobble.

The stand is pretty terrible imo, but it hasn't been an issue yet. slight wobble when I type but I have a pretty cheap desk, I might try the spindle thing.

My desk is pretty old, like 25years. However it's stained solid oak. My monitor won't move from anything short of an earthquake.

So I'm about to buy one of these monitors, but I can't decide which one.

Which brand is better? I'd like one without the glossy screen.

Recommendations?

All of these are glossy, sorry. The Catleap from Yamakasi has a little bit less of a sturdy stand than the Shimian. The multi input versions have more input lag and the reinforced glass models simply have an additional glass panel across the entire front of the monitor.

Those with AMD GPU's, can anyone see BIOS?
Mine turns on when I'm at the windows log in, blank up to that point.
