i gave up Star Trek when it became 8 minutes of show, 4 minutes of
commercials, etc. they might as well just have an advertising channel
with text messaging telling the Star Trek plot. with the occasional
7 of 9 cameo.
Interesting note on that: Star Trek, and TV in general, has become more stuffed with ads. When TOS episodes are shown now, they have to cut several minutes from them in order to get enough commercial time in.
TOS episodes were around 51 minutes each, compared to Enterprise, which is closer to 41 minutes.
The money you spend on cable TV programming is helping to pay for the privilege of receiving an ever-increasing number of advertisements.
