Steadily over the past 5 years I have had more and more trouble sleeping. It usually takes me 30 mins to an hour ( sometimes longer) to get to sleep and I often wake up 3-5 times a night. I almost always wake up way before I need to as well, like 30 mins before I set my alarm. I do stay in hotels quite a bit and have just as hard a time, I often need to turn the clocks around because I find myself waking up just to stare at the clock.
And before people start throwing out recomendations I have tried a few things. I usually dont go to bed till at least midnight, I have tried forcing myself to go to bed at 10 but I just stay up thinking about stuff. I do excercise. I have tried tylenol PM & melatonin, they help a little bit but I end up just feeling groggy for a while the next day no matter how early I take em.
I just feel like my mind starts racing when I try to get some sleep, I just constantly think of stuff. I just wish I was one of those people who could sleep stone cold for 8 hours straight.
