Anyone else having this issue after going to W10?

After doing a clean install of W10, I have noticed Firefox struggles mightily with webpages containing quite a bit of Flash elements. Even more so than it did when I was on W8.1.

I am using FF 39, have uBlock Origin running and have Flash version 18.0.0.209 installed.

Can't figure out what may be causing such poor performance given I had no where near these troubles using the same listed above and the only change being going to W10.

Only issue I experienced, was that after I upgraded parents 8 year old PC, I had to manually install network card driver.

This want exactly surprise, but better HW detection would be nice....

I've had an issue with FF 39 not letting me type and it actually has crashed on me several times. I don't have flash installed but I do have java. I've also had an issue where task manager wasn't able to halt a program that had locked up, trains 2015 under steam, forcing me restart to clear it out. Hopefully MS will release updates as they receive feedback on problems.

Check\uncheck hardware acceleration and make sure your drivers are the latest and greatest.

Already tried the HW acceleration deal...no difference with it enabled or disabled.

Already updated my video drivers to the newest my older hardware supports.

Just strange I wasn't having this issue until after the move to W10. Everything ran perfectly fine until I did that.

Same sites that give me problems in Firefox work fine in the new Edge browser.

But I just can't bring myself to use that as my full-time default browser until there is some form of ad blocker that actually blocks as well as what I use in Firefox (uBlock Origin).

Word is extension support is coming to Edge in October of this year so maybe then.

Use chrome. Ad blocker + proper acceleration. No issues here with HD 4400. What is your hardware setup?

Almost embarrassed to say but here goes:

ASUS M3A78-EM
AMD Athlon II X4 620
3GB OCZ PC2-5300
ATI Radeon HD 3200 with last released AMD/ATI drivers (October 2013)
Realtek onboard sound and an Audigy PCI
WD WD6400AAKS 640GB SATA HDD
Seagate GoFlex Desk 3TB external HDD

I'm guessing that just disabling Flash would make Firefox/Palemoon/etc. faster?

I could do that I guess but it would also mean completely giving up going to a few sites I really enjoy.

Just can not figure out why everything ran fine with W8.1 but with W10 there are these performance issues.

Someone else had similar problems with Chrome + Flash + Windows 10 as well:

I'm guessing that just disabling Flash would make Firefox/Palemoon/etc. faster?

Just to clarify, I don't actually have any issues with flash in general in Chrome. Webpages load just as fast as before. The issue lies with 1080p (particularly 1080p 60fps) playback in Chrome. For some reason, it uses more CPU/GPU resources now in win 10 compared to 8.1. My CPU actually ends up throttling when playing 1080p60fps, which is what's causing the microstutters.

Edge has none of these issues.

I believe it comes down to immature win10 graphics drivers, non-optimized chrome, and my 3200 x 1800 display.

Also, disabling flash in Chrome did nothing for improving performance.

As for your issues, I believe it boils down to drivers as well since win10 did make a lot of under the hood changes. And since your drivers most likely won't be updated, I think only a win10 or firefox update will be able to fix it. In the meantime, try switching to a different browser like Chrome or Palemoon, and see if the issue persists there.

Maybe your hardware is just not quite there. I have Win 10 on an AMD hex-ore sysem with 8 GB of RAM and Chrome runs well - although no matter what things will stutter at times if you don't have adblocker since it has to wait for the Ads to load.
