Alabama has a crazy law where stores cannot sell beer with an ABV of over 6% or in containers larger than 16oz. This takes away a large majority of the better brewed beers.

Eh, I'm really not a huge fan to be honest. That's not to say I don't care for it at all, I'll definitely drink their IRS, and I liked the XII quite a bit. The reps they sent to State College were always cool guys to hang out with, too.

Their "World Bistro and Gardens" is quite an awesome venue. Too bad the beers don't match the awesomeness of the architecture. 11th anniversary was a decent beer...I was a fan of Ruination until it suffered a drastic decline in quality in the last year. It's okay - my tastes have graduated to Russian River Pliny the Elder/Younger.

I love Arrogant Bastard and Double Bastard. The UC Irvine pub used to serve it on tap! It was heaven! Stone Brewing Co also used to sponsor a lot of the UC Irvine events so there typically would be free beer there!

I live in GA and have wanted to try The plinys for a LONG time. I've tried over 80 IPAs and am on a quest to find the best double IPA. The plinys are like the holy grail for a Geogian who would have to go to CA to actually get them.

I think they are good but definitely overrated. In my opinion Northern California and Oregon make the best beers in the world, aside from those select few monks in Belgium. I drank a bunch of Mad River in Arcata and they are one of my favorite breweries.

You'll love the Cali-Belgique IPA then. It's their IPA with Belgian yeast.

That was very good. I still love the Ruination the most, but it's been oddly lacking lately. It seems whenever I get it, it simply doesn't have that AWESOME piney-hops flavor, almost as if it's not as fresh. I've had to move on to Lagunitas IPA and 90 Minute when I'm feeling rich.
