Anyone else in colorado?

My gf's parents are stuck there right now. They live in Ft. Collins. They were supposed to fly out yesterday. Doesn't look like they're going to make it to the celebrations in DC.

Perhaps we should trade... I could be in DC in 3 hours, and they could be at my house in 15 minutes

Over the years, it's gotten to the point where there can be several straight weeks of no snow during that time period (high 30s, low 40s). And there will definitely be no snow for Christmas this year.

I seem to remember the same experience growing up in Michigan and Wisconsin....maybe it's just because we were young?

Nope I remember the same thing. One big snow fall would stay for the whole winter season back in the day. Now its gone in a few weeks either by heat or rain.

That is typical Denver weather. There is a myth out there that we get lots of snow in Denver and its always cold. Really its quite the opposite. We get very little snow and when it does snow its gone in a day or two. The mountains of course hold lots of snow, especially the ski areas, but not denver... Its warm and nice here much of the time.

A few days ago it was mid to high 50's...

Stuff like this rolls in maybe once a year at most. It gets lots of press however continuing the myth that life here is like living in Minnesota...

The locals were so friendly. Huge contrast from here in the northeast. It's funny, about 10 people said the same thing: "We average more than 300 days of sunshine."

Yup. Lots of nice people here in CO

Yeah, a good Samaritan helped me get out of a slippery hilly area by work yesterday. Lots of nice people helping cars stuck in snow during this blizzard.

Well, it's still crazy out here. Yesterday my dad and I shoveled the driveway and front patio twice, both times there was about a 6-12 inches of snow in most places, and by the time we were done we could go back to the starting point and pick up another 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch.

Well, things aren't looking that great. I was out here in Boulder for a few days from Phoenix and was scheduled to fly back Wednesday night. That flight got cancelled and I got re-booked for Thursday at 1:00PM. That flight got cancelled and with a lot of work I managed to re-book for Thursday at 7:30PM. That flight got cancelled less than an hour after I booked it...

Right now I'm sitting here in Boulder with no way home and lots of plans for the weekend. Every flight until Christmas night is booked. I have no idea if I'm going to be home for Christmas or if I'll get to spend it with a bunch of other stranded people in this hotel in Boulder. Sucks.
