Anyone else looking forward to FFXIII-2?

Was always very underwhelmed with the FF series, yet somehow I always manage to pick them up.

So this may be a strange question, but have the translators realized they don't have to fill every microsecond of potential silence with grunts, oohs and huh!?s yet? It's the reason I haven't played a J"rpg" that has voice acting until FF13. Also, do characters speak more than four or five words in xii-2? Maybe I've been spoiled by the excellent dialogue of recent western rpgs, but this is getting on my nerves:

Character 1: "I should have.."
Character 2 "What?"
C1: "Should have known."
C2: "What?"
C1: "She didn't tell me."
C2: "Who?"
C1: "Right."
C1/2: "Huuuuuuuh!"

I don't know, I still want to enjoy them but I think I've outgrown the juvenile writing and themes of most jrpgs.

^YES! I've always seen RPGs as a vehicle for telling a story. And when the dialog is noticeably bad, it really, *really* ruins it for me. I've always felt strongly that translators need to be native speakers of the language they're translating to.

As ever, I'm hopeful XIII-2 will break the mold, but I'm not holding my breath.

I agree, when English voice overs tries to mimic japanese style speaking, it just sounds terrible (going through Tales of Graces F w/ the same issue). However, any anime with japenese audio/language doing those grunts/hmms usually sounds ok and flows with their type of speech.

I didn't finish the last one but if 13-2 has good views, I might get it.

I finished the game a few weeks ago...

Serah and Noel all Maxed out with Odin weapons... I have an army of Chocobos (including the rare Gold and Silver) maxed out with monster infusions on their specialities so I have a full strong paradigm deck... then I went to kill the last boss... :|

The ending was definately rage worthy... Saw the ending then decided to watched the alternate endings on Youtube... WTF, even the alternate endings left me raging... I ended up having 152/160 fragments
