Anyone else looking forward to The Last Ship?

I'm a sucker for apocalyptic tv shows and movies. Got tired of The Walking Dead (did not see the last season) so I'm looking forward to a good substitute. My only concern is how they're hyping the fact that Michael Bay is associated with the show. I hope it's good.

Looks like it has potential.. dunno about a ship running on fuel oil being out at sea for 4 months.. maybe it has a supply ship with it? But then it wouldn't be the last ship.

Reminds me of Last Resort which was an ok show but the acting was kind of shit

I saw it. It has potential but, for a Michael Bay project, the blasts were on the cheap side. I know, it's a tv show, but still.

It looks like they will find ships to refuel from, like they found a cruise ship on the ocean with everyone dead. They could potentially go on the mainland or find islands.


Started watching it. A lot of cliche characters (badass Captain, argumentative women scientist) which is typical for these shows, but it is keeping me interested for now.

I enjoyed the book and I'm a little annoyed they used the same title. The book's premise was NUCLEAR. Not a pandemic. That's a dealbreaker for me right there, changes the whole tone IMO.

I never understood the Michael Bay hate. I have seen several of his movies and they were enjoyable.

I have to say I didn't like it. It had a low budget feeling to it. Tired plot and Rhona Mitra is just to old to be considered hot. I also wonder how they are going to advance the plot. They are stuck on a ship have no provisions and can't go on land without risking all their lives.
