I do not get guys who act like girls about shoes. I stick with New Balance and Asics, basic styles and am cheap as hell about them as well. The past several pairs I have had have been bought off ebay used. I have a search saved than has my specifics

Buying used cheap shoes - that's a first for me. Do you really not mind other people's sweaty feet in them? I know, it doesn't feel like it... but the fact that you know...

They are only like $20-$30 from Modell's brand new...

the crossover avatar makes me believe you.

Not sure what that means, but that's my actual car and yes I'm a work-from-home dad that takes care of the kids. Would I rather have my wife's 3hr roundtrip commute everyday?

I want to rub your nose into that smell for that comment lol.

They stink man. I dragged them through mud, deliberately, soaked them in rain, stuffed them in a bag with newspaper, and just let my feet do some work. And they still smell like rubber... mixed with barf.

I can't remember the last new shoes I bought. They were probably Birkenstocks in the early/mid 90s. Might have been some boots from the same period; dunno. Otherwise, I buy all used shoes, and if I don't need them now, I buy them and stick them in a closet. I probably have boat shoes for the rest of my life. Boots are a little harder to get.

I have 3 pairs of shoes. 1 pair of athletic shoes for everyday wear, 1 pair of hiking-type shoes which I wear to work, and 1 pair of old athletic shoes for doing crap jobs like yardwork.

Oh and buying used shoes is like buying used underwear. Gross.

I care in the sense that I make the effort to satisfy both function and form depending on the situation. I like looking good, but not at the expense of function. At present I've got 5 pairs of shoes ranging from hiking boots to fancy dress shoes, and one pair of Teva-style sandals, none of which were <$100. I polish my everyday shoes every couple of weeks.

While we have all the gay and bisexual men here discussing their shoe collections...

I need a new pair of slippers. Mostly just something to keep my feet from freezing in the house during the winter. I hate fleece-lined slippers, and I don't need something in which I can walk the dog and wash the car, although a sole that can go outside to take out the trash is welcome.

Recommendations?

I use these: http://www.amazon.com/Isotoner-Women...er+house+shoes

They pretty well fit your description. They're not super warm, but to get much warmer you'll probably need something like fleece.

I have far more than 10 pairs. It is a hobby to collect shoes. I enjoy having multiple choices of multiple colors of even the same pair.

And, in the event I ever decide to sell some of my collection, the return on investment is much higher than I've paid.

I have a lot of sport specific shoes...

5x weightlifting shoes
2x sprint spikes
1x football boots
1x rock climbing shoes
1x hiking boots
1x tennis shoes
1x wet shoes
3x casual sport shoes
1x flip flops
1x dress shoes

I would suggest pouring pure alcholol on your soles of your feet. I think this works.

Women love a man who dresses like one, you should try it sometime.

As for the slippers, I'd recommend some sort of boat shoes. The non-fleece-lined versions will just have your bare foot against leather, but a good pair can be plenty comfortable without socks and they're slip-on. Also more than good enough for a walk down the driveway.
