about a year ago, I swore off all majorly caloric beverages other than milk (2%, skim, or soy) and the occasional glass of wine/champagne.

can't say I really miss them... all I drink anymore is water or those 10-calorie flavor packets that you add to 16-20 ounces of water (a bunch of brands made them, but I lean towards crystal lite and propel).

I did have a snapple about 5 months ago, but it was an accident I thought it was diet and didn't realize till I was half-way through that it wasn't.

For about six months I drank only water... I'll go on soda binges every so often... Kinda like now, but as soon as school starts I am going back to all water. Well, usually I'll do those little flavored water packet things too... I'm trying to get off those, but it's damn hard. I put one in about 36oz of water... I can't stand the strength of it in 16-20oz.

One thing though: I only drink diet.

<--- been drinking diet soda/whatever for the last 5-6 years after being a strict no-diet soda guy. I can still taste the difference but after this long, both are good enough to satisfy my sweet tooth.

I don't find the caloric intake worth it for the mediocre tasting corn syrup soda.

I drink diet soda about once a week. Normal soda about once a month. Don't miss it too much.

I used to not drink soda (for about 5 years). Now I just drink whenever I'm at an event and there's Coke, Dr. Pepper, or orange soda. Usually just a can, cup, or glass. About once a month I'll buy a Dr. Pepper.

I drink tea and coffee (unsweetened 95% of the time) and don't crave soda, but I do drink it if I feel tired and nothing else but water is available. Dr. Pepper I drink because I love the mix of flavors (it's a love or hate thing, I happen to love it) and like to have it once in a while.

I visit India with family every 3-4 years, and soda is about the only thing I drink (and a little bottled water) over there. Love Limca I think they use only sugar over there for sodas.

I don't drink very many unless there is alcohol mixed in. But I don't drink alcohol very often either...

Tons of sugar just isn't good for you.

While I don't drink soda or anything else highly processed this is interesting as I love juice all natural, not from concentrate and without HCFS. I don't think the occasional cheat hurts any but I don't want to put any more of that junk in my system than I have to. Also unless you're on a very struct diet the ~100 calories really wont hurt even once a week. Excess water also causes weight gain, more if you take in lots of sodium.

Why are people who don't drink soda so proud of the fact that they don't drink soda?

Yeah, you are awesome for not partaking in something delicious.

I drink about 3 diet sodas a day.

If I drank regular soda, I would weigh 400lbs.

When I was in HS and there was an ample supply of soda, I'd probably have 3-4 cans a week.

Now that I'm living in an apartment, I maybe drink soda once every 2 weeks. I just don't buy it. And now when I do, I tend to get the Mexican Coca Cola sold in a nearby produce store.

I love soda. If I wasn't concerned about my sugar intake I would drink soda anytime I needed a drink. But I am concerned so I cut soda out of my life Every now and then I'll accept a soda when offered at someones home if that's what they have to drink, but at home/on my own I drink copious amounts of Iced Tea now, unsweetened of course.

The only time we drink soda is if we stop for fast food somewhere.

Not many options in those places. (neither of us drink milk)
Many of them even charge you if you drink water)

At the house, it's rare for us to have any kind of soda. Once in a great while, especially if we're going on a long drive, we'll pick up a 2 liter bottle of some caffeinated sugar water like Coke or Pepsi, but that's about it.

I switched to Diet Pepsi (from regular Pepsi) about 6 years ago. Good thing there aren't any calories in it, because I drink a good 3-4 cans a day. $10 36 packs at Sam's Club FTW.

I find diet soda to be on par with drinking warm urine. I'm not a big fan of normal soda, but I like it once in a while.

3 cans of coke a day adds up to 50lbs of weight a year.

Hell, 1 can a day adds about 15lbs. That's assuming a 12oz can, nevermind those larger sizes.

I don't know what urine, especially not warm urine, would taste like. :/
