Yeah, you are awesome for not partaking in something delicious.

3 cans of coke a day adds up to 50lbs of weight a year.

Hell, 1 can a day adds about 15lbs. That's assuming a 12oz can, nevermind those larger sizes.

This does not answer my question.

I don't NEED soda, but if I have some, I drink it. I only buy it if it's on sale usually. It's never on my list of "things to buy."

Sure, if you never exercise... But I've spent many, many, many years drinking lots and lots of soda. I've cut down sharply in the past couple years, but even so, with your logic, I should weigh at least a thousand pounds. At most, I'm 850 or so.

Unless if it has rum in it hardly ever.

Once in a great while if I need caffeine, other wise its water for me.

I go through phases. Get fat on pop then drink nothing but water for a few months and lose like 25 pounds, then start drinking pop again

You are correct I guess that's because we don't have that extra weight gain? I stopped drinking them because I got braces put on and I am OCD about keeping my teeth clean and having the shortest treatment time possible.

I very rarely do. I honestly don't find it very refreshing, makes me feel more thirsty and it's just too damn much sugar. What's crazy is if you stop and look at the contents of many other beverages that you might think have less sugar - they don't!

I find diet soda to be on par with drinking warm urine. I'm not a big fan of normal soda, but I like it once in a while.

I don't know what urine, especially not warm urine, would taste like. :/

I fight off the urge. I have managed to stay off them completely for 8 weeks now. What is helping me go a long way is the fact that I feel so good and less moody on them.

I used to be a major soda addict. Like 12 cans a day. I managed to significantly change that behavior a few years ago but have spells I go through where I binge. I think I went into all this in A H&F post a few weeks ago.

I truly feel like an addict. Like a smoker. They say that no one ever quits (smoking) and I was thinking today if it would be ok for me to pour myself a 4 ounce cup of soda on a cheat day. But I don't want to awaken that demon yet.

I have had some of my best ideas while on Jolt. The speed rush. To resist the urge I tell myself they used to give Hitler a daily speed injection, along with most of the germans.

My mood and mental health is better with no soda. It is the devil.

Drinking soda is potentially an addicting habit, and not a particularly good one if it's a lot of soda often.
People should be happy about not being addicted, but being "proud" of not drinking soda isn't a good thing.

Although I guess in some cases people who are addicted will misconstrue happiness as pride, especially if they want to justify their own addiction to soda to themselves (much like with people who smoke cigarettes, though of course that habit is much more hazardous to your health).

I never buy soda for the sake of drinking just soda, but will have some if it's offered now and again.

PRO TIP: If you still want the "fizzyness" of soda and the healthyness of water try soda water/club soda/perrier/etc!

I don't actively seek out soda but if I'm at an event and its free I'll have a can or two. When I decided I got too fat I cut off soda completely and lost 10lbs fast.

can't say I really miss them... all I drink anymore is water or those 10-calorie flavor packets that you add to 16-20 ounces of water (a bunch of brands made them, but I lean towards crystal lite and propel).

I did have a snapple about 5 months ago, but it was an accident I thought it was diet and didn't realize till I was half-way through that it wasn't.

mostly i drink water
and beer

i have a soda or tea about once a week if i grab fast food somewhere (i may grab fast food more often, but ill have water with it)

i dont miss it, soda is way, way too sweet.

It's like those people who don't own or watch tv, and need to mention it whenever possible.

"Did you catch last night's episode of Lost?"

"Oh, I don't own a tv and never have..." Followed by a 20 minute rant about the evils of moving images..

Blah...

Ditto. Once in a while I'll crave a sugary drink, usually when having a salty snack like potato chips. So I'll have a Pepsi or Coke with the chips and then not have another one for a month. And I don't really miss it. I usually drink flavored waters or unsweetened iced tea. I'd rather get my daily calories from bacon cheeseburgers or pizza than from sugar water.

About 1 - 1.5 liters per day, more on the weekend - no joke. This bottle of Pepsi says 'Quantity of Sugar added: 10.4g/100g'. Is that a lot? 43 Kcal/10.9g carbohydrates/10.9g sugars per 100 ml.

Ya know those saccharine tests they did back in the 70s where they fed rats the equivalent of ~80 cans of diet coke a day to see if they would develop cancer? I'm almost there.

I swore off soda for a few years. Now I drink ~1 soda / week. In general I've tried to clean up my diet and avoid bread, sugar, and processed foods. It's hard when you're broke, but I generally feel like I have more energy and my athletic performance has certainly increased.

Pop is pretty much all I drink, besides a glass or 2 of milk during dinner.

I've really gotten out of it. I used to drink a litre+ per day, but now I'll have a glass once a week or so. It isn't for health or weight reasons, I just lost my taste for it. I now drink seltzer water, tap water, and unsweetened tea(and the ever present coffee).

I cut back soda a lot. I used to drink one per day. My breakfast when I was in college was a can of Coke and a bag of potato chips. Good time then.

Now I am trying to drink one a week but it is hard, ok 2 a week.
