Killer show but not for what you might think. In general I hate TV and more so with the so called "reality" shows like "survival" which is nothing even close to reality but more a chaperoned popularity contest with food to eat. This show, even though it has a twisted producer, is soooo much closer to reality. One you have a guy tring to be something he's not (most younger guys do this with women not all to uncommon) rich. then you have allo these golddiggers wanting to bed down with Ben Franklins and not the guy. This show is great.

I wish they'd picked a smarter and more swave dude though, this guys needs a to play it like a player should.

I agree. Evan seemed too nice for those "ladies". They should've picked a disgruntled gay biker or something. Someone that would've ripped their poor greedy hearts out.

Think again, this guy's a moron.

Oh NOOO! He got a ticket for toll evasion!

The show isn't bad, and Joe is pretty cool, though I didn't "see" much of the show when it was on. I'm sure some of you guys whine about how women are attracted to rich guys, and now you have a TV reality show to see if that's true. Why are you complaining? At least it isn't Who Wants to Marry a Millionare, perhaps the most embarrasing disaster in TV history...

The point wasn't the fact he got a ticket for toll evasion dummy, it's the fact the toll was a few cents, but yet, he chose not to pay it, therefore, pointing to the comment that flavio made about him being fairly well of afterward. So know what you're rolling your eyes about first, before doing so. That little icon is way too misused here.

The final joke is going to be on the people who watch this show......because Joe really is a millionaire

If the girl who wins dumps Joe after they tell her he's not a millionaire she's going to feel like a real idiot for being so shallow after she finds out he really is a millionaire.

However, if the girl keeps him because she really does love him, she gets the added bonus of being with a millionaire.

I do have a feeling that Fox is going to announce that he is infact rich before the last episode to help really boost the ratings.

Very good point. I thought the same thing when I saw his last name, Marriott. Any relation to the hotel chain Marriott? Hmmmm.

ROFL. This show is brilliant...easily the best social commentary on Greed to emerge from the visual medium since Wall Street. Nobody does the seven deadly sins like Fox. Reality TV is not really my thing so I will probably only watch the first & last episodes, but I do *love* the concept.

Unfortunately, Fox seems to have slipped up a bit in implementing their idea...which makes me wonder if they were really all that clever to begin with. For one thing, I don't know why they are wasting valuable screen time trying to make Joe seem like a nice guy when he is undeniably a scumbag. Heck, he *is* kicking off his relationship with these women via a gigantic lie...can anyone blame them for running away after the truth comes out?

Fox should have gone all-out and selected a True Asshole for the role of Joe--a manipulative, evil SOB...the kind of man who would staab his own mother in the back for sh*ts & giggles. Ratcheting up the tangible sense of cruelty behind each and every episode would give the show some punch and distinguish it from the usual reality crap. Hey, why not lampoon both the pathetic, desperate materialism of gold-diggers *AND* the superficial, irresponsible conduct of the rich?? A missed opportunity...and one that will prevent Joe M. from moving into the ranks of the classics IMHO.

While the link is interesting it doesn't have much to do with my point. Which is that FOX will probably be paying him a decent sume for doing the show. Not to mention the interview circuit and whatever else he can get.

I'd never even heard of it until I saw threads about it. After some Googling, I finally figured out what it was. No, I'm not watching it.

Maybe that's what you wanted to say, but you respond with "Think again, this guy's a moron." That makes no sense in this wonderful new context you put it in. "Think again" implies you disagree with flavio's statement, which leaves "this guy's a moron" to be unrelated. I am then to deduce that anyone who gets this ticket is a moron? So you're really saying he's a moron because he can afford to blow a toll booth? I think ur just mad cuz I used the rolling eyes. Sorry bout that, I had to use them atleast once you see.

Excellent post exp, we're on the same page. Joe looks and acts like some dumb classless construction worker (not saying they are all that way but he is) and is totally unconvincing in the role he was selected to play. Good to see you post again.

I can't stand "Reality" TV shows, this is the kind of TV crap we're exporting to other countries, along with Jerry Springer, one of the many reasons the rest of the world hates the US.

I hate 'reality' shows. As noted above - exporting this trash to the rest of the world is no great advertisement for the US.

BUT, I watched parts of this one ... and I will (if I realize when it happens) watch at least parts of the last show just to watch the reactions. It will be interesting to see how fast the gold digger (and they are ALL g-d's on this show) dump this loser's butt.

I'm gonna chime in here regarding the toll road. I live right next to that toll road... the 73. Everyone tries to evade it. You've got ppl doing all sorts of different tricks. Using tape to alter the license plate. People sitting in the trunk and covering the license plate as they blow past the cameras. Lots of things like that. Anyways.... the show looks quite amusing. I'll have to catch it next week.
