Anyone else notice the lack of HD 4670 low profile cards?

Bingo! And since you've got the "in", let me give you one more nudge in the side for more low-profile stuff. ESPECIALLY mid-range where you get some decent speed but don't require the extra 6-pin power.... or know it won't draw too much power so a single-molex/6-pin adapter is included. And thanks for the LP bracket - it's a shame not to include a 10¢ item which makes such a difference!

I actually had a short conversation with our graphics card product manager today regarding low-pro mid-range cards. At this time it is a no go. Part of the problem is that heat becomes an issue. If you look at the existing highest end low profile card (9800 GT) you'll see that the heatsink makes it a double-slot card and I'm thinking stuff like Furmark will probably make those things roll over. There are some future products that may be better suited, but right now it is a wait-see.

Thanks for that Zap. I would say that giving people the option to choose low profile double slot cards is still good. Personally I haven't checked my mobo to see if I could but I know the only space next to the gfx slot is a x1 which I more than happily would sacrifice. Then again, I wouldn't go for the 9800 GT. I'm more than happy with a 9600 GT (or equal ATI 4670ish).

The fact that the 4650s are out now is great. I could've gone for the DFI Lanparty JR 780g matx mobo which has two pcie slots meaning 4650s in crossfire and I still might do that at some stage.
