Anyone else out of T.P. / Paper towels in your location (again)?

My wife was watching the local news the other day, and I overhead our local news station doing a report on toilet paper / paper towels selling out again in some parts of the country. I thought "I hope we don't have to deal with that bullshit again". Then I went to Sam's Club this evening for a regular shopping trip, and they were totally sold out of both. After shopping there, I stopped by Food Lion and all they had was a few packages left on the shelf.

I really think if the news reporters stopped running these type of stories because they are short on non-Covid stories, people wouldn't go and panic buy it all.

Haven't noticed. I got a big ass case from amazon earlier this year cause it didn't seem like it was coming back locally. It came back literally the week my case was delivered :^D

I'm good for years, so I haven't looked. I've slowly been squirreling away food in case people lose their minds again. A little extra every time I go to the store. There isn't much I need from the store for a long time.

Yes. I was in my local Target last night around 8 p.m. and the toilet paper section was barren. Not a single item was on the shelves. Not one.

I just check my own supply in the bathroom and I am still good for a while. One full pack and 1/2 pack for a total 10 mega/super double rolls.

I'm sure I'll get dragged into Costco again tomorrow and I'll check. I went there this morning to get gas at 9AM and mine was already open with half the lot full. Thankfully the pumps weren't slammed like they were on Monday and the weekend.

I have extras of tp and paper towels - because prior to covid I always keep extra. I buy in large bulk based on overall price because it's inevitable that it will be used, and it never really deteriorates.

At the store i usually shop at paper towels never fully recovered. They would have some but not the selection or amount as before the last craziness. TP seemed ok last time i looked though.
Soap in the pump bottles & the refills for them never recovered. There's just a section of empty shelf where they used to be.

Picked up 36 rolls pack a while back and we have gone through half. Should last us through Christmas and hopefully people will stop with the nonsense panic buying.

Ever start a roll of TP and find the two-ply sheets 180 degrees out of synch? I have many times and usually after the first few sheets they come back to being in synch. I started an individually wrapped roll from Costco over a week ago and they're still 180 degrees out of synch. I'm making doo! I am pretty sure I got more mileage out of a roll of TP than 99% of the populace. I can't imagine people's toilet technique that makes them go through so much TP.

Sam's club and the major grocery stores are but you can still find it with a little effort around here. Seems like stores are out of more Thanksgiving related foods sooner than usual as well. Fortunately we already got everything we wanted for tomorrow

Local grocery store was fully stocked yesterday of both. I bought three packs of TP over the past month, so I'm probably good until spring.

Costco has some TP and PT, local HEBs are pretty well stocked.

So far so good in my area, but I've been stocking up more just to be safe. Toilet paper is one of the few things we actually do make here in Canada so it's not at high risk of shortage. The issue is actually keeping the shelves stocked since idiots were clearing the shelves in one shot.

I think our local costco recently ran out but got a new shipment and limited buyers to 1 per member. For whatever reason, they're limiting paper plates too. We've got a costco pack so we should be good for a month or two hopefully.
