Anyone else hosting this year? We've got 17 people coming over and holy crap my wife is going crazy getting everything ready. haha From getting the table set to making arrangements and planning activities to cleaning the house within an inch of its life......WOW is the only expression that comes to mind.

Setting the table tonight in anticipation. I still need to bring up the rest of the chairs out of the basement and of course place settings still need put out. We have so many people coming over that our table wasn't big enough so we found one at Goodwill to extend it!

Here she is putting together the center piece for the table. I kept telling her to just to buy one but she insisted on making one.

Nah...just the two of us this year. Our grandson who lives here married a Jehovah's Witness...her family doesn't celebrate ANY holidays...we had a couple of invites to join other people...but we declined. Thought about going out for dinner...but Thanksgiving dinner leftovers are about the only leftovers I like...so, we have a 10 lb turkey, will have a few sides, and (if I don't eat it first) a Costco pumpkin pie.
edit…scratch the Costco pumpkin pie. Had a slice…not very good. We(she) will make one.

Prepping, yes. Working extra hours at night and early mornings in order to get this damn project at work to a comfortable point so I can enjoy Thanksgiving without stess. Ready to slap my client for demanding things be delivered the Tuesday after the holiday weekend.

Husband and I drove the 14 hrs to daughter/SIL/grandson’s place where SIL will be cooking the turkey in his outdoor kitchen. Don’t know if it will be grilled, smoked or something else. Don’t care as long as someone else is doing it. We’ll be staying for a few days after as well, so I get to enjoy the leftovers too - bonus!

Made a experimental scalloped potato recipe this morning. We're bringing some sides to the daughters house this year. We did the feast for the fam (15-20) for decades, then downsized.

Yep, normally the inlaws host but they're out of town this week so we'll be having about 12 people over.

Today will involve having the kids clean all their crap from the great room downstairs. Tomorrow our cleaning service will be here and all the arrangements get set. Thursday is cooking, cooking, cooking and then party time.

Then a nice long weekend to really get into a deep relaxation, all guests will be gone by Saturday morning! Magical!

We hosted last year so this year it's a cousin. We're just responsible for the sweet potatoes. My mom was one of 6 and her family always celebrated together so now that all the kids are adults and have kids of their own the gathering is huge.

@allisolm that bird better be freaking amazing after driving 14 hours!

We’re hosting for 8 adults and 3 or 4 kids. 14 pound bird goes in the brine tomorrow, on the BGE around noon. The guests will bring their assigned sides.

My focus this year will be to make sure the lions share of the cleanup isn’t left for my wife!

Doing a chicken and ham this year. Turkeys are too big for the two of us. Weather looks good for a hike so we’ll do that. We haven’t decided on which kind of pie yet.

We always host Thanksgiving for about 15 people. We live in an area where they shut off power when the Santa Ana winds blow. The last 2 years they shut off the power on Thanksgiving. We had to drive the turkey to my daughters so she could cook it. Going to miss the selfies she took with the turkey. So we had a back up generator installed. This year the Santa Ana winds are blowing now (power was shut off yesterday) and it will be fine on Thanksgiving.

Our set up is NOTHING like BB's. It is a hodgepodge of tables and festive paper plates from Costco.

Come hang with me in SC
I attempted a PSU joke, unless you meant UPenn. My family is actually on vacation during Thanksgiving as well as my extended family who normally hosts. So now I get to eat bad food at my inlaws....sigh. At least I make the dessert. I just wanna go golf instead.

We are having a simple Thanksgiving, a small spiral ham, mashed potato, green bean casserole, rolls.I have frozen shrimp & cocktail sauce, black olives, crackers. Didn’t get any pies because Aldi didn’t have any but did get a cheesecake sampler that was on sale.
I am just grateful we are housed, get medical care & have food. So many don’t have these things.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone 🦃

Hosting for 6 additional people and we got our grocery shopping done early. My wife is going to start meal prepping here soon but I'll need to spend several hours wrapping up stuff for work this morning. Turkey, stuffing, corn casserole, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, roasted broccoli and beans, and pumpkin pie
