So far it feels snappier. Now to see if the battery life is any better. I'm doing a restore first to make sure it's completely clean. Stuff like my exchange accounts didn't come across right in the upgrade.

I ain't touching it until there's a verified JB for a 3GS. No way I'm torturing myself with stock OS. SBSettings, Backgrounder, Pro Switcher and Activator - can't live without those 4.

Well, the update worked great on my 3GS. I like the changes. Nothing special, but a improvement none the less.

My friends 3G however was hosed by the upgrade. I haven't seen it yet, but he said it will not start up into an OS.

If anyone else out there is running iOS 4.0 on a 2nd Gen iPod Touch, I'd love to know if you can find the orientation lock feature. As best I can tell, it's not implemented on the 2nd Gen Touch. Thanks.

Just finished updating my 3G. Nothing out of the ordinary, now to organize my folders lol!

I think mine is being backed up to floppies over a 14.4 kbps modem. It's at 5% after an hour, and that's after I stopped it and removed all of the audio and video files. I did a sync prior to attempting the install, and it backed it up then (didn't take long). I'll let it run overnight and see how it goes. If it doesn't work I'll wait until I have my iPhone 4, then I'll wipe this one and try again.

When I was in 8th grade I downloaded a 22 MB game demo over a 14.4 kbps modem. I thought that was so awesome. Didn't care much for the game though.

It seems as though i was wrong thinking multitasking meant multitasking. I guess I have to wait till all the apps I use update to it. And then scroll through the bottom icons to find what I want.

So far so good on my 3GS. Runs pretty smoothly.

it is not very smooth on my 3GS. After restore all of my apps, video, and music but the photo roll is missing but it will show up after you take a picture. Safari browser crashed at some websites.

Is my english better now? I dont think so

Battery seems warmer.

Can't use wallpaper cuz Jobs doesn't know how to simplify a fucking 2d image and animated icons/dropshadows to where it's not an issue on older hardware.

All I get out of it is folders which is great but... this is overall meh.

The IT guy at my wife's work is a bit crazy and sent out this note to everyone in their office this morning:

As you may or may not be aware, Apple has released iOS4, the latest operating system for iPhones and iTouches. The next time you sync to iTunes, your system may inform you there is an update available and ask if you would like to perform it. My advice to you is wait for the time being. For one thing, the servers that update the software are being slammed from across the nation with every geek wanting the latest and greatest. One of the big upgrades it contains is the ability to multitask. I've also been told multitasking sucks the life out of a battery faster than ever before. For another, this is a major new upgrade operating system and your best bet is to let other people iron out the bugs and let Apple do some more updating before installing it. If you have any questions, see me.
