Anyone else stuck at work?

7pm to 7am shift here. I work till Boxing Day. Will be off for a bit then work through New Years's too.

Big bucks though! Going to get up early tomorrow and go spend time with family before I head to my shift.

At least it's relatively quiet. Had an issue with the dialup server (people still use that?!) but that's solved now.

I've got an amount of work to do before Tuesday, which I've been spreading out over the weekend. I'll hit it hard tomorrow. I'll get paid for whatever time I work plus eight hours for the holiday, no time-a-half or anything though.

working 12 hours shift as well. No overtime pay or holiday pay rate for me but customers tip very well on Christmas.

It's a catch 22. Rather be off, but it is good money. I forget all the differentials that get applied but it ends up being like a week worth in pay for 2 days. (Christmas and Boxing day)

Downside is that you get taxed so hard on it you don't see it as much, but it's still a decent pay.

I've worked every major holiday at least once...and the minor ones many times. When given the opportunity to make extra double time...or double and a half, I almost always jumped at it.

Those days are far behind me nowadays...and y'know...I just don't really miss them.

Worked 11pm-7am and just got home ... heading to my daughters for x'mas morning/brunch then its back in 3pm-11pm tonight.

Not fun but it is one shift time & 1/2 then one shift double-time and I could use the money.
