So far it hasn't crashed on me... but wow this thing is nice. Definitely give it a shot if you haven't already

Ive had some weird DNS issues with FF3. Granted, ive had them with FF2 as well, but it seems to happen quite a bit more frequently with FF3. It just freezes while loading some pages and acts as if its disconnected, ala 'Loading Google.com'.....

I like it a lot, but the fact that FF2 and 3 both use the same preferences from my system makes it a no go. I need to have a completely useful version of Firefox and 3 just isn't there yet (although it is close).

I really hate the default interface. Give FF3 the FF2 interface and I'm sold.

Startup and page loading are both noticeably faster on FF3 for me as well. I'm impressed.

The speed is v3 is great, definitely a noticeable difference from Safari. With that said I don;t really like the feeling of firefox and I only use it when webpage will not load in Safari.

There are ways to fix this, You can use the built in profile manager in Firefox to set each version to use a different profile, this solves about 85% of the problems associated with having FF2 and FF3 installed at the same time. The problem is that every time you lauch FF it asks you which profile you'd like to use unless you set one as default for one FF install and the other as default for the second FF install. I've run in to issues where FF3 will overwrite and change a profile in ways that FF2 doesn't like and vice versa. Haven't corrupted one yet but the thought has crossed my mind.

On the windows side you add "C:\program files\mozilla\firefox\firefox.exe" -no-remote option to the end of your FF shortcuts (v2 and v3) and it will flag FF to allow multipule instances to run. I don't know how to do this on OSX (something I need to work on).

Thanks.. very good to know!

I haven't used Firefox 3 since Beta 4, and I went ahead and installed Beta 5. So far so good. It works on all the sites that Beta 4 didn't used to for me. So I'm going to leave it alone. If I do run into any issues, I'll have to give the two profile setup a shot.

Nope, and its just related to FF. I never get the DNS issues with Safari.

So, what reason is there to use FF instead of Camino? Camino is Gecko just like FF, and it looks like a MacOS app right from the start. I'd try it if there was a compelling reason to do so.

I'm using FF 3.0b5 on both OSX and XP, and I love it. It may be a little slow on startup, but I almost never have any troubles while surfing. My favorite feature is the smart searching in the title bar. It looks through your bookmarks and your history instantly while you are typing.
