Can you proof it.MarkXIX is correct. When I was on Cox I hosted an FTP server and used some wacky port #. Only way to get around it.

Scottsdale and McDowell area. I have the "Ultimate" package with "speeds up to 150mps. I've had nothing but issues with them and if they weren't the only real speed option in my area I'd drop them without a second thought. I dread calling them as it's a long painful process ending normally with them asking me to use their version of the speed test that shows a completely different story than speedtest.net.
Can you proof it.
No way. You need to do the hard work yourself. How the hell would I do that? Just do it yourself as a test. Takes like an hour total.

I am actually a technician with them in arizona. I will tell you that the reason we use that speedtest as opposed to speedtest.net is because our speeds that are advertised are based on speeds on our server. It's not some magical site just to make you happy. I'm not gonna say that we don't see people that have speed issues, but most time it can be fixed or put in to be fixed. I can say I rarely have speed issues at my house. There have been alot of upgrades that are going on to fix issues dealing with saturation and whatnot, not to mention a d3 modem will definitely help.
Then perhaps you can answer why I see a 45+ mps difference between speedtest.net and the cox speed test site, and it's not just a random one off. It happens every time I attempt to run a speed test on any site. The only one that shows me higher speeds is the cox one. When someone pays a high amount for the "ultimate" package, you would think they'd get better speeds...
The speed tests I just ran..
and of course the "cox speedtest site"... still not the 150+ promised via the web site.. of course that's "Up to speeds of 150mps".

My Issue was resolved but there was no identification of where the problem came from. The cox tech was arguing with me that it wasn't cox's fault when I let other people use my NNTP account in both Chicago and LA with no issues. Some people just don't have common sense. Now I'm pulling 3200 KB/s down average which is really nice, right where it's supposed to be.
Cox just upgraded my speeds to 150 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload! Nice.

I'm near Camelback and the 51 and I haven't really had issues. There was one time it slowed down significantly, but all I did was restart my computer and the speeds were fine again. I've also had sporadic issues maybe once or twice a month where internet dies for a few minutes and then comes back on.
