their previous game was Frontlines: fuel of war. that one came and went pretty fast(glitchy and bugs from the start, not many players, slow to patch)
part of kaos studios problem is that they are stuck in "reality mode" and keep trying to relive the bf42:desertcombat days. They spend a lot of effort making real life weapon games with some future tech bits thrown in, while wrapping the whole thing in some retcon alternate future premise.
The things that made DC and bf2 popular was that it was current day weapons in real settings, i.e. very familiar and recognizable. Frontlines setting was too unfamiliar and the gameplay didnt capture anyone's imagination. They seem to be overcompensating this time by setting it in usa.
I'm part of the gameplay > artwork side of the debate, but they are seriously abusing suspension of disbelief if they are trying to make North Korea the enemy. NORTH friken KOREA ?????!!!!!
