Anyone encountered an SJW in real life?

Just wondering if they're really as common in America as they seem to be from what I read on the internet...

By SJW, I mean those annoying ones with their hair dyed red or purple that make amazingly stupid statements about being attracted to diapers and stuff(god i cringed even typing that)and follow an extremely leftist ideology. Like this:

No, most people are pretty chill IRL. I know a few feminists, bu they're not as hardcore as the Twitter parodies online are. The most annoying are the anti-SJW people (same issue as the anti-fanboy people, haha). I know a dude who constantly goes on tirades about them, like he has nothing better to do than read about that stuff online & then tell everyone he knows about why it's dumb or wrong. He's more annoying than the SJW stereotypes are :biggrin:

My brother in law (24y/o) lives with a bunch of hipsters (they're in a band) and they managed to convert them over the course of a few years. Last time he came to visit he refused to use he/she at dinner because he didn't believe in forcing people into gender roles or something. I'm confused by your post. SJW = Social Justice Warrior, which is kind of a derogatory term for someone who gets uptight about stuff like social issues online but usually has lame arguments & acts immature (basically trolling). Lately a lot of people have been applying the SJW to attention-seeking online feminists (hence the picture with the dyed hair) who don't actually argue for the true definition feminism, but just want to trash everything that isn't pro-women. I was saying I know some feminists IRL, but they aren't quite as stereotypical as the Internet makes them out to be in terms of "down with the patriarchy!" & all that, and also that I have a friend who argues against people who are SJW, which is even sillier of an attitude to have. The anti-fanboy fanboy!

OP was wondering if those people really existed. I'm sure they do IRL, but people are more vocal online where they can be anonymous & aren't subject to feeling the heat in-person. OP's location is India; my post was to say that most people in America are pretty chill about stuff & don't really get that uptight in person, at least in general - there are always some vocal outliers (the few nuts who have extreme roadrage & such), but mostly, people don't really act like that in public. Similar to when you're playing on Xbox Live & people go nuts with profanity & threats...it's not something you really see on a daily basis outside of a few uptight people.

I wonder what percentage of the population really, truly gets offended over stuff like this. If someone wishes me Merry Christmas, Happy Hanuka, Happy Festivus, or good day, I say thanks! Their intent isn't to be a jerk because I celebrate Christmas & they're Jewish, so why get all up in arms about stuff like that? I'm not really a fan of this new sub-culture where people get offended over everything. I can understand getting uptight if someone is actively being mean to you, but getting ridiculously politically-correct to the point of flipping out over it is kind of on the extreme side of things.

It's irritating as shit because it's an affectation people put on like a pair of jeans. There's no real soul behind it, and they're just trying to be cunts. I don't know any irl, but I wouldn't put up with their bullshit if I did.
