anyone ever done a corn maze?

I have tried to traverse one (a lot smaller than that) but it kind of freaked me out because i kept thinking of the scene in The Shining with the "shrub maze".

I've done corn mazes but not like the one over in lodi. The one I did was kind of small and quite boring.

I went HERE! a couple of weeks ago. We went through other mazes 1st, though, so by the time we got the corn maze, we were getting tired. Our kids were starting to whine about being hungry, etc, so we got to a section where we could "cheat" without destroying any of the maze parts and took a shortcut.

There's one outside of Davis, CA and I went there at night with a group of friends - it's HUGE. Took us about three hours.

Homebrewerdude, if you go to that maze in lodi, post back here and let us know if it was fun. It's only 20 minutes from my place and seems like it could be a fun afternoon date activity. I love little town attractions like that. Went to new glarus a couple weeks back and toured the brewery. Fun and tasty!

There is one near Edmonton, Alberta, close to my parent's place which I have taken in. Last time I went the center was in the shape of the Edmonton Eskimos football team's logo. Fun stuff

"Done" as in explored one, or "done" as in created one?

My family considered creating one last year, but we decided that it would cost too much for the business permits & etc., so we didn't bother.

I read a little more on that web site, seems like it would be awesome to take a date there if you went for the evening event where there is a campfire afterwards. Plus this year's maze is a t-rex. And it is decent exercise, being 3 miles long. Going to have to schedule a date there ASAP.

I did one down in Camarillo that was g i g a n t i c, totally fun.
They gave you a flag to hold up in case you got lost inside.

"The Amazing Maize Maze" with 2 miles of trail in the maze!

Tangent: As kids we visited Williamsburg W. VA & got stuck in a maze of sharply poking holly bushes as torrential rain burst open. Lots of laughts!

i went in one. did I actually follow the maze? no, not really. we ran through the corn rows and kept screwin around. that was entertaining, although I got cut a few times from random stalks. lol

Follow the outside wall (or inside wall) and you'll get out eventually. It isn't necessarily the optimal solution, but it is guaranteed.

Went to this maze (last weekend, oct 1) and it was a lot of fun. Inadvertently went on an autism charity day. There were loads of people. The nice thing about this maze is that it is structured to be challenging. They give you a small map of the first section and you go to the waypoint in each section to get the next section's map. Plus, hidden somewhere in the maze are stamp stations where you stamp your map. If you get 4 stamps you get a bag of popcorn, if you get 8 you get 2 bags. So there is a lot of motivation to explore the whole thing. And lots of collusion with others.

There were other little things too. Like a pony ride for kids. A slide and giant pit of corn (kind of like the ball pits in chuck e cheese). And a giant sling where you put in a pumpkin and try to get the pumpkin to land in the middle of a tire in the pond.

Took about 30 min to get there from madison's east side and it's a fun drive. Definitely recommend it.
