Anyone ever Dynamat a case?

Get much dampening results out of it?

Haven't done it myself but thought about for a while. Word from those who have done it is that the increase in temperature(Very little heat is transferred from the surface that you dynamat as it's basically insulation) and the resulting need for more fans to offset it kinda mitigates any quieting effect from the dynamat.

I've done it to my Aopen HX08 case. It did raise the interior temps a bit but it did lessen the noise/vibrations coming from the case. Also because of the shear size of the case it also increased the mass of my computer by quite a bit. I've also bought some foam sheets with adhesive on one side from CompUSA which worked almost as well as the Dynamat...it was cheaper too.

Don't bother with the Dynamat.. tried it, didn't help much.

I haven't done it.. don't want to try

just make sure there aren't many openings, and use quiet fans.

the PC will be totally quiet enough.

Done it, wouldn't recommend it. My case is heavy as hell now! :|

Done it, but I limited my application to areas of increased noise (I applied it to the front of the case where it wouldn't affect airflow). It was alright, it hardly is impressive, so I would recommend quieting your other parts before you go insulation crazy...

I did it to my duallie and my tbred cases because I was bored and I had extra sound dampening material left over from my car stereo install. It didn't really make much of a difference. In fact, the 10 gig, 5400 Seagate Barracuda in my tbred rig vibrates the whole case! Time to look into grommets, which are probably a better idea than dampening the whole case.

Tried Dynamat Extreme, their upper line Dynamat, and I must admit I was quite disappointed. It did help a bit with vibrations/noise, but not worth its cost. Only reason I even bothered is, I had some Dynamat left over from a car stereo install as well.
