Anyone ever get a successful RMA from Soyo?

My mobo blew, called them up, the guy answering just goes "hello" like it was a residental number, and after a few questions making sure it was soyo, he transfered me to RMA dept. which was just a recording saying to goto www.soyousa.com/rma which is an extremely hard to fill out form and it seems they need you to pay all the shipping... anyone ever got through all that?

Don't ever buy a motherboard from Soyo. If you get luckly the board works and you have gotten a good deal but if it doesn't then you just lost money. Sorry. I bought 2 one died the other one still works. I tried the tech support and all the SH1T they put me through wasn't worth it. I just ended up selling my K6-2 400 and bought a new non soyo motherboard and a Athlon 650 that I o/c to 750. So even though I lost $ I got myself better setup.

You have to go thru the vendor that sold you the board. Soyo (like most other mobo manufacturers) has a 1 year warranty on their products. I had a Soyo board that I had to RMA after 11 months (extreme overclocking abuse finally killed it). RMA'ed it thru the vendor, no pablem. Had a new one couple days later. After 12 months though I think you are sol. How did you kill your board? Must be doing some hard core OCing... Soyo boards are pretty hard to fry under normal overclocking.

Well I just took a 600e from 100mhz to 133mhz and killed the slot 1, Bought it from Compusa in March(less than 12months) Compusa says they cant cover it after 30days and I have to go through Soyo myself

You should take Soyo's warranty policy and transcript of the phone call to CompUSA and make them replace it.

Well i had 6ba+iv die on me just the other day in the 11 month of the 12 month waranty.
Mine was from CompUSA also.
I just dealt straight woth Soyo.

Called Soyo, left a voicemail. They called me back next day.

I found it fairly easy to fill out.

Fax or e-mail it in and they either fax you an RMA # or e-mail it to you.

You enclose $15 for return shipping.

I got a new board in about a week or so.

I'd have to seriously disagree with shawnmos as for never buying a Soyo. I've never had a problem with 'em except this incident, and Soyo's have taken every chip I've ever put in them higher than any other board.

have to agree; I've tortured a Soyo SS7 for a couple years now and it's still working. Bought it through a small vendor that has excellent CS support; the few questions I had, they quickly cleared up. Sounds like Compu is just trying squirm out of it.

when I upgrade (mid-January), I'm going with the Soyo Socket A mb and Duron 700.
